Vidu are working on a really exciting assignment on behalf of one of our clients who are looking to create a freight brokerage team, within their already hugely successful business.
Our client have engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search process.
Vidu’s team of dedicated consultants will be your first point of contact when applying for these roles.
As a Freight Broker/Account Manager you will be responsible for the development of profitable new business and for building strong relationships with our clients existing customers that allow for the retention and growth of their business.
You will be the main point of contact for carriers and customers as you build up your portfolio. You will oversee the entire transportation process to ensure freight is successfully picked up and delivered.
Responsibilities:
To research, identify, and prospect potential customers via web searches, social media, and other outlets.
Use cold calling techniques to proactively generate new leads and develop new accounts.
Provide quotes and handle booking requests for all transactional customers.
Utilise a consultative sales approach to identify, solicit, and secure new business from existing and new customers.
Participate in face-to-face sales calls as needed.
Manage all customer account, contact information, sales call notes, and rate quote documents along with all other customer interaction information through a Logistics Operations System and CRM Tool.
Provide sales support to management for direct marketing campaigns, web ads, print ads, and other lead programs.
Participate in the evaluation of and respond to all formal bid packages, on-line bid packages & carrier profiles from assigned customers.
Ensure customers are informed of all the necessary documentation requirements for customs clearance, hazardous materials, or to meet any other regulatory or customer requirements.
It’s imperative you have two or more years of transportation industry experience in a sales, business development or account manager role.
Demonstrated experience in identifying and growing standard trailer and temperature controlled business.
Must be able to communicate effectively and demonstrate strong customer service and sales skills.
Have a proven track record of closing new customers.
Strong negotiation skills to liaise between shippers and carriers.
Manage daily shipments and ensure they are picked up and delivered as scheduled.
Must have the ability to multi-task, work in a team oriented environment, make good decisions, and problem solve.
Previous experience of utilising a Logistics Operations System & CRM Tool is essential.
Proven IT skills and previous experience of navigating Windows XP OS in addition to Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
