Vidu are working on an exciting assignment in the search for a Customs Brokerage Manager on behalf of a Global Supply Chain Management Company.
Our client has engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search process.

Role:
Your role will be to develop and manage the customs product in the marketplace through focus on Operations, Finances, Sales, People, Systems, and Culture.
Ideally you will have a minimum of 3-5 years Customs Broker’s experience including a minimum of 1-2 years at management level as you will be responsible for a team of 3 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct annual reviews for employee retention program – against company and job expectations.
Review department goals and business plan periodically with staff to ensure buy-in and accountability.
Ensure no duty/VAT unbilled.
Ensure all classification instructions for all shipments for all customers.
Ensure all Customs Authorisations are valid – Transit guarantees, customer IPR/OPR/Warehousing authorisations.
Monitor undischarged Transit forms.
Monitor duty deferment usage and levels.
Monitor license/visa applications.
Ensure all documentation present for archiving purposes.
Follow up the customs guarantee for various operations.
Follow up refunds with customs authorities.
Follow AR report – review, delegate, chase.
Department P&L – review, identify, plan.
Proactively communicate with the team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.
Audit of files in accordance to AEO.
Send client report requests through the available database (expo request, expo reporting)
Experience of working as a Customs Broker within a Freight Forwarding/Supply Chain Company is essential.
Sound knowledge of customs brokerage process.
Good knowledge of customs legislation, especially with regards to classification, valuation and origin.
Understanding of ocean, road and air documentation process.
Well rounded knowledge of the customs tariff and customs system.
Working knowledge and experience of the customs regulations.
Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word etc.)
Pro-active, strong organisational skills.
Fluent in English.
The ability to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly and effectively.
The ability to maintain a privileged relationship with the customs authorities.
