About this position

Vidu are working on an exciting opportunity to manage a Global Customer in South Wales on behalf of a major Freight Forwarder.

Our client has engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search process.

Vidu’s team of dedicated consultants will be your first point of contact when applying for this role.

This is a position for a dynamic individual with articulate communication and commercial skills, as the successful individual will be customer facing, representing our client on a day to day basis as well as at Business Review meetings(BRM)

Responsibilities:

Manage a team of 8 direct reports based at the customers site.

Support a business that requires 24/7 support.

Cover any aspect of the teams roles (Imports/Exports and JDR engine contract)

Providing weekly, monthly and quarterly business reviews with KPI’s (prepare and present data/analyse and demonstrate improvements)

Route Cause and Corrective action for any issues.

Manage KPI’s for deliveries to include a weekly call with key stake holders.

Ensure Customs Compliance.

Be a stakeholder in Customer Improvement Program.

Managing Overtime/TOIL.

Manage suppliers.

Manage costs.

Work with Finance to ensure fastest possible cash collections and resolve any queries.

Quotations from small AOG’s, to dedicated vehicles, through to Charters.

Manage and improve profit margin.

After-hours management of critical-timed shipments is required.

Skills and experience required

Experience in a similar role representing a Freight Forwarder on a Customers site.

Strong AFR operations, carriers and routings, OTP (On Time Performance) adherence and a strong desire to deliver service-excellence is imperative.

Extensive Import/Export knowledge and processing skills is essential.

Strong communication skills.

A proven track record of managing, leading and developing teams.

PC skills to include: Word, Exel and Powerpoint.

Extremely Customer focused.

Strong problem solving skills.

Decisive with strong negotiation skills.

Excellent planning and organisation skills.
