About this position

Vidu are running a super exciting assignment in the search for a Sales Manager on behalf of a renowned Logistics business with a Head Office based out of Southampton.

This is a National role, so it’s not imperative you live in Southampton, you can be home based.

It is a pure new business role initially, with a flight path based on the value you add to progress over time into management.

Our client have engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search process.

Vidu’s team of dedicated consultants will be your first point of contact when applying for this role.

Reporting directly to the General Manager this role will support our client in ensuring they win and retain profitable local and National business, in line with their growth plan, strategy and operational requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

To work with the management team in identifying compatible and profitable new business, alongside working with operational teams to ensure a seamless transaction and confirm all routes operate profitably.

Providing clients with competitive proposals and ensuring you follow up on quotations.

Consultative selling/Providing value add services to our clients customers.

Strong commercial acumen.

The ability to negotiate profitable and sustainable long term contracts, in line with commercial and operational policies.

Be capable of planning and managing territories effectively and in line with company requirements.

Skills and experience required

Dynamic, driven, highly motivated individuals who can deliver on our clients ambitious growth targets.

Extensive experience of selling: Freight Forwarding / Transport / Warehousing / Distribution / Logistics.

A proven track record of exceeding new business targets, whilst excelling at customer retention through professional account management, development and planning skills.

Capable of sourcing and identifying prospects. (Be very much a hunter of new business)

Used to reporting all activity accurately and timely.

Strong presentation and negotiation skills.

Computer literate with the ability to complete Excel spreadsheets.

Self motivated, strong communicator, who is able to lead by example, and work well autonomously, in addition to being a real team player.

Strong relationship development and business development skills with a customer centric approach.

The ability to communicate at all levels.
