Vidu are running a super exciting assignment on behalf of a rapidly growing, innovative logistics business in the search for a solution focused Business Development Manager.

Reporting directly into the Group Sales Director this role will support our client in ensuring they win and retain profitable new business, in line with regional and national budgets and operational requirements. This role requires strict adherence to the companies pricing and commercial policy.
Key Accountabilities:
To work on a National basis identifying compatible and profitable new business.
Working closely with the Depot Manager to understand current capabilities and future intentions.
Monitor new business and once passed, oversee.
Responsible for all sales administration and accounting.
Develop further existing Depot Accounts.
Working as part of the broader team, in ensuring new business targets are met.
Attending weekly conference calls and monthly meetings.
Responsible for managing own telephone sales appointments.
Maintain ACT by Sage and all sales databases.
Technical Capabilities:
Acumen: To have a strong commercial understanding.
Negotiation: To be able to negotiate profitable and sustainable long term contracts, in line with commercial and operational policies.
Stakeholder Management: To work closely with fellow colleagues across a number of stakeholders.
Customer Relationships/Planning: Be capable of planning and managing territories effectively and in line with our clients requirements.
Dynamic, driven, highly motivated candidates who can deliver on our clients ambitious growth targets.
Extensive experience within either Logistics/Freight Forwarding/Supply Chain/Time Critical/2-Man Delivery.
A proven track record of exceeding new business targets, whilst excelling at customer retention through professional account management, development and planning skills.
Capable of sourcing and identifying prospects. (be very much a hunter of new business)
Used to reporting all activity accurately and timely.
Have strong presentation and negotiation skills.
Able to complete Excel spreadsheets.
Be a self motivated, strong communicator, who is able to lead by example, and a team player.
Must be capable of delivering the appropriate cost effective IT solutions, working with IT.
Strong relationship development and business development skills with a customer centric approach.
The ability to communicate at all levels.
