Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Business Development Manager in Germany, on behalf of a leading pan-European logistics provider.

Our client has engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search process.

Vidu’s dedicated team of consultants will be your first point of contact when applying for this role.

Role/Responsibilities:

You will be tasked with generating and maintaining big ticket new business for the Contract Logistics side of our clients business.

Playing an active part in our clients commercial development and contributing innovative ideas for the development across the full range of our clients logistics solutions.

The role requires an individual with a consultative approach and a solution sales focus with a strong track record and experience gained within 3PL Logistics, Transport, Warehousing/Distribution.

This role is most suited to an entrepreneurial, driven, self starting Business Development Manager who will enjoy the autonomy of working within a small dedicated team whilst still being part of a multi national organisation.

You will be tasked with identifying and developing new sales opportunities across our clients full range of services, by building strategic relationships with prospective customers at senior and board level.

Establishing close working relationships internally and externally.

Submitting thorough sales reports in respect of all customer visits including identifying all possible business opportunities

Being involved with key projects as and when required.

Developing marketing plans and a strong robust pipeline to meet our clients strategic plans.

Skills and experience required

Demonstrable experience of solution sales within 3PL, Transport, Warehousing/Distribution, Freight Forwarding/Supply Chain.

An in depth understanding of European transport.

It’s imperative you are a self starter, hungry, target driven and have a proven track record generating in excess of 1m euros new business per annum.

A proven track record in presenting both Freight Forwarding and Logistics Solutions.

The ability to identify key challenges for our clients customers and the knowledge to create a solution.

An up to date and thorough understanding of the UK Contract Logistics market is imperative.

It’s essential you are a team player but also able to work effectively in a very autonomous role.

Extensive knowledge of tenders, quoting and agreement processes and achievements.

Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

A very innovative thinker with strong communication skills.

Excellent presentation skills and use of presentation software.
