Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Head of New Carrier & Innovation on behalf of an extremely innovative, technology focused parcel delivery business.

Scope of the Role:

As Head of Carrier & Innovation you will have full ownership and accountability for the Carrier Management Team. You will use your broad knowledge and expertise to develop and deliver the strategy for this area. You will also be responsible for identifying opportunities with new strategic partners globally, broadening our client’s eCommerce Delivery Solution, in addition to continuous improvement of processes with existing carrier partnerships across the business.

You will be accountable for:

Developing and rolling out the Global Carrier Strategic road map and driving the business forward by engaging with future Delivery Partners.

Developing the Pick Up and Drop Off point (PUDO) Road Map Strategy for the Business.

Managing all new carrier initiatives from inception to delivery.

Working closely with the appropriate teams to provide excellent service levels.

Building, managing and developing a world class Carrier Management team.

Identifying new commercial opportunities with New Carriers.

Onboarding New Carriers and Partners.

Building and developing relationships with New and existing Final Mile Partners.

Developing new strategies around continuous improvement.

Leading any internal projects concerning Carrier Management.

Sharing technical knowledge to up-skill junior team members.

Skills and experience required

Knowledge & Experience:
Significant experience in Carrier Operations.

Experience in setting and fulfilling a development agenda within a customer centric business.

Proven ability to leverage data to identify problems and create solutions.

Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.

Technical & People Skills:
Excellent analysis and interpretive skills with a high attention to detail.

Proven track record of building and developing client relationships at all levels across a matrix environment, including the ability to deal with Senior Managers across a range of functional areas.

Demonstrable negotiation skills and influencing abilities, and the ability to deal with high value contract negotiations and senior procurement professionals.

Impact & Influence:
A proven track record building relationships at board level internally and externally.

Demonstrable experience driving continuous improvement.

Stakeholder management – able to influence senior stakeholders (internal and external)

Able to present detailed information and concepts in written reports or presentation slides, excellent analytical skills, including the ability to work extensively with data sets and infer conclusions for improvement activity from excel spread sheet analysis.

Able to matrix manage – ensuring requirements, deadlines, actions, etc are completed by people without any direct management authority. Management of an extended “virtual” account team is therefore required beyond the immediate direct reports on the account.

Qualifications:
Full Driving licence (agile role will require significant travel)

A key account management or sales qualification is desirable.

Degree level educated would be advantageous but is not essential.
