Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Territory Sales Manager to cover all HP postcodes on behalf of a rapidly growing, forward thinking logistics business. Our client specialise in UK overnight parcels and pallets, same day, storage international delivery, haulage, distribution and fulfillment solutions.

£30,000 – £40,000 basic salary (dependent on experience) plus 5% of all gp generated, fully expensed car, fuel card, 23 days holidays plus stats, (increasing 1 day a year up to 25 days) pension and excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

Scope of the Role:

To identify and qualify new customer opportunities. Developing a good working relationship with all Group Departments and generating new business revenue and profitability from prospective clients within the HP postcode by:
Building close and effective working relationships with prospective clients.

Developing and implementing market development plans.

Identifying and qualifying opportunities for new business. Developing a multi layered relationship with Group departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with the Depot Manager and Sales Director to implement the sales strategy and develop the short, medium and long term business plan to achieve targets.

Achieve and exceed sales targets in line with our clients growth plan across the Group.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of our clients products and all associated features and benefits and to tailor those benefits to the needs of the customer.

Track performance of new customers and ensure they trade to profile.

Use the sales tools in line with the agreed sales process to maintain and develop the sales pipeline and customer information.

Qualify all new business opportunities to ensure resource is effectively allocated.

Create a sustainable network of contacts and key individuals within new opportunities while identifying suitable market growth opportunities.

Define target list for suspects based on clearly defined criteria that maximises return for the business.

Develop relationships with senior level contacts.

Deliver effective tender responses to specific opportunities.

Maximise the margin from new revenue streams ensuring customers trade to agreed profiles in line with kpi’s.

Build effective relationships within your region with General Managers, Customer Care Managers and other Business Development Managers.

Attends team meetings and contribute as necessary on own individual performance, prepare for manager review meetings and complete sales activity reports accurately and on time.

Measures:
Actual monthly and annual revenue and margin. Contracted forward revenue and margin. Planning and Preparation review document. Accompanied Observation reports.

Skills and experience required

Experience within either Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Parcels, Contract Logistics, Fulfillment, Retail or a service based business.

Detailed understanding of sales process, hunger, drive and determination.

Excellent networking ability and natural communication style.

Problem solving abilities; able to facilitate discussions and onboard/implement new clients with regards IT, operational, and finance elements.

Ability to travel within your designated territory and able to work with the minimum of supervision.

Microsoft XP (Excel, Word, Email, Access, Power Point)

Excellent presentation skills. Results driven, self confident individual with an ability to empathise with clients at all levels.

Ability to work well autonomously and as part of a team.
