Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Senior Project Manager – DC Design & Optimisation, on behalf of a rapidly growing, technology focused Supply Chain Management business.

This role would ideally be suited to a strong leader with proven track record of success in: DC Design, Automation and /or Solution Design.

£90,000 – £105,000 basic salary (inclusive of car allowance) dependent on experience, plus 20% KPI related bonus structure, 25 days holiday plus statutory, pension, healthcare, package and excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

Scope of the Role:

As Senior Project Manager – DC Design and Optimisation, you will be the supporting lead and/or support in DC Design and Optimisation projects, responsible for driving business improvements for clients. In doing so, as Senior Project Manager will also develop re-usable assets and share skills for continual building of the DC Design and Optimisation capabilities within our clients business.

Your Mission:

Lead DC design and optimisation projects and provide guidance on solution development and deliverable outcomes.

Support the Client Lead in the management of client expectations and engagement.

Conduct and/or lead analysis, operation & process reviews, client interviews and data & financial analysis to quickly understand and determine the drivers of a warehouse operation.

Complete the lifecycle of DC Design activities using our clients DC Design methodology.

Develop and present clear documents and presentations on key findings, project proposals, tenders etc.

Review inputs and solutions of team members to ensure quality solutions are delivered and reports are well articulated.

Complete assigned project activities to agreed outcomes, quality and timeline. If acting as the Project Lead for an assignment, to also manage the delivery of the project to the agreed budget.

Engage with senior client executives to explain the warehouse solution meaningfully to non-technical people and concisely articulate costs and benefits of proceeding with recommended solutions.

Liaise with Materials Handling Solutions providers in order to obtain the appropriate technical solutions designs and costings that meet the requirements of the client operation.

Exceed client expectations in terms of professional standards, quality of deliverables, and responding flexibly and innovatively, to their individual needs.

Contribute willingly to all levels of a project, from project management to being a supporting team member, as required by each assignment.

Act as a senior manager within the Warehouse Solutions team by supporting business development activities, managing resources and capability requirements, coaching and supporting other team members and liaising with the Director/GM responsible for the Warehouse Solutions team, to drive internal improvement and solutions that improve work effort and outcomes.

Maintain professional knowledge of operational and design leading practices to support the development of relevant solutions.

Contribute to the ongoing development of the Warehouse Solutions toolkit.

Skills and experience required

15+ years’ industry experience in warehousing operational /development roles ideally with some consulting or service industry exposure.

Qualifications and Accreditations Relevant tertiary degree qualification.

Multiple industry experience ideally within Retail, 3PL and/or FMCG.

Experience in leading the delivery of projects in a Supply Chain Solutions delivery role (internal or external)

Highly developed numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver client and business requirements.

Executive level commercial and business focus/acumen.

Effective communication skills at all levels of organisations.

Experienced in set-up and use of major Warehouse Management Systems.

Good process engineering skills.

Knowledge of labour management systems.
