About this position

Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Fulfilment General Manager on behalf of a rapidly growing eCommerce distribution business who are entering an exciting new chapter of its business with the launch of a new fulfilment and supply chain division.

Ideally you will have a proven track record in building and developing a 3PL/Warehousing/Fulfilment business, as you will be expected to deliver strategic input to the Management Team/MD, and have the people skills to build strong relationships with current and future fulfilment customers.

Scope of the Role:

As Fulfilment General Manager, you will play a senior and pivotal role in driving the fulfilment business forward, delivering operational excellence, and developing our clients logistics proposition for existing and new clients.
This position requires a strong, independent individual with a great warehousing and logistics background, cross-functional experience and a deep knowledge and expertise of 3PL/fulfilment processes, metrics, systems, trends and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:
Lead and oversee all operational activities within the fulfilment centre, including inbound logistics, warehousing, order fulfilment, and outbound logistics.

Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimise operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

Fulfilment Process Development:
Evaluate current fulfilment processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance speed, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.

Implement innovative technologies and automation solutions to streamline fulfilment operations and increase throughput.

Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement new fulfilment services and capabilities in response to market demands and customer requirements.

Team Management and Development:
Provide leadership and guidance to a diverse team of operational and administrative staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Recruit, train, and develop talent to build a high-performing and motivated workforce capable of achieving strategic objectives.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance, customer satisfaction, and business growth.

Monitor and analyse performance metrics regularly, identifying trends, areas of concern, and opportunities for improvement.

Prepare and present regular reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.

Customer Development, Retention & Acquisition:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base and increase revenue streams.

Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions to drive satisfaction and retention.

Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop effective strategies for customer acquisition and market penetration.

Benefits:
£70,000-£80,000 basic salary (dependent on experience)

Skills and experience required

8 years plus management experience working within a leading UK warehousing / logistics provider.

Deep knowledge of 3PL / 4PL warehousing, fulfilment & logistics strategies, processes, metrics, tools, systems, standards and policies.

Knowledge of industry trends, challenges & innovations.

Understanding of UK and International transportation & parcel providers.

A track record in managing customers and developing client relationships and business would be an advantage.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and drive results through data-driven decision-making.

Experience in project management techniques, cost management, efficiency improvement and change programmes

Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Ability to travel across UK sites as and when required.
