About this position

Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Carrier Manager on behalf of a rapidly growing eCommerce distribution business, who want to ensure they retain their position at the forefront of this exciting and rapidly developing industry.

£60,000-£70,000 basic salary (dependent on experience) plus £6,000 car allowance, annual bonus, package and excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office. 5 days will be required initially as you get settled in.

Your Mission:

As part of the operations team, based at the UK headquarters in Hounslow, your mission will be to ensure our client are using and managing the best airline/carrier partner mix to deliver their clients’ parcels globally, providing up to date end to end tracking of the parcel journey.

It’s imperative you are ambitious, dedicated, and have good problem-solving skills, to join the team in providing game-changing solutions for their clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Review daily and weekly performance and proactively manage Carrier performance through KPI analysis, cost control and strategic thinking to ensure they are maximising carrier performance and securing SLA requirements for their customers.

Regular review sessions held with carriers providing performance feedback and driving efficiencies and improvement for the operations team.

Full understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain and the impact of any service level failures and cost penalties associated with them.

Knowledge of International Operational Carrier markets.

Multi Carrier Operation in fast paced environment.

Skills and experience required

Carrier Manager experience is essential.

Performance driven – Ensures SLAs and KPIs are understood and adhered to across the end-to end delivery process. Monitor the external carriers to ensure continued and consistent delivery performance to ensure an outstanding customer experience.

Proactive – Identifies delivery risks and issues, acts fast and proactively to mitigate and minimise impact to delivery performance, manages this via reporting and agile data analysis.

Reporting and review – Inputs into carrier/delivery strategy and product roadmap. Maintain directory of carrier contracts, pricing, service information, destination information.

Manage Carrier Relationships Performance – Manage relationships for service, performance (against agreed SLAs and delivery aims).

Put particular focus and importance on planning for Peak(s) with carrier partners providing forecasts, capacity planning, contingency, cut-offs, lead time and operational considerations.

Manage via tracking, reporting, data analysis and communications, tactically daily, and through weekly / monthly / quarterly reporting, and through a cadence of reviews with partners – this performance management is a key part of the role.

Can use reporting tools and Excel to sort summarise and present data, identify issues and see trends and patterns.

Problem solver – can find root causes and work through issues to solve them.
