Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for an extremely commercially aware Bookkeeper/Accountant, on behalf of a rapidly growing logistics business.

Hybrid working – 3 days on site, 2 days working from home.
£40,000-£50,000 basic salary (dependent on experience) plus package and excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

Overall Role Purpose:
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of bookkeeping for a broad range of industry sectors under one umbrella and will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and providing valuable insights to our clients business to support their global expansion piece.
Key Responsibilities:
Monthly management accounts, accurate financial reporting and variance analysis.
Oversee and accurately input daily financial transactions including invoices, payments and expenses into accounting software to maintain up-to-date and error free ledgers.
Cash flow and budgeting management and forecasting.
Working with commercial and data analysis teams to monitor margin and revenue performance.
Preparing excel data and daily Xero entries and identify the VAT, Taxes and P&L on a day to day basis.
Stock control.
New company set ups within Xero.
Liaising with HMRC.
Assist with analysing the impact of business and process improvement.
Prepare statutory accounts for all entities.
Prepare and submit of VAT Returns.
Prepare and submit of CIS Returns.
Comparison of forecasts against actuals and budgets to prepare in depth reporting and variance analysis.
Monthly KPI reporting.
Forecasting potential pinch points so management can take necessary correcting course of action.
Cashflow forecasts.
Complete full management accounts and consolidate data into management reports.
Support strategic functions such as company budgets, business plans, capital plan, etc and accounting functions such as developing and implementing policies and procedures, maintenance and review of financial data, reporting financial results, etc.
Prepare account reports for management and provide or consolidate operating subsidiary input for responses to corporate financial requests.
Perform analysis of financial results, explaining reasons for significant variances from plan and between accounting periods.
Assist in the preparation, compilation and analysis of the annual business plan, capital plan and strategic plan.
Perform periodic updates to business plans to reflect operating changes.
Research and develop accurate interim forecasts and systems which integrate expense, capital and budgeting.
Experience working as a Bookkeeper or Accountant within the Logistics sector or a service based business.
An accountancy qualification CIMA / ACCA or equivalent (our client would consider part qualified)
Adaptable to change and commercially driven to seek improvements.
Energetic and passionate about delivering improvement and efficiencies.
Knowledge of advanced personal computer applications and accounting systems.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
The willingness to contribute to a positive team spirit and be a real team player.
Ability to work to tight deadlines.
