About this position

Vidu are running a super exciting assignment in the search for an Account Manager on behalf of a leading Freight Forwarding Supply Chain Company. As part of their growth plan and strategy they are looking to appoint an account manager to add to their current team and cover the North West region.

Our client have engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search process.

Vidu’s team of dedicated consultants will be your first point of contact when applying for this role.

It’s imperative you have an in depth knowledge of Freight Forwarding and Supply Chain Solutions and have a proven track record of successfully retaining and managing national and multi national retail accounts.

About the role:

Within your role you will be tasked with managing a select group of retail accounts within my clients portfolio.

You will be managing and growing existing accounts on a day to day basis by bringing forth new services or modes and/or expanding on existing services offered, with a focus on increasing efficiency, adding value and maximising profitability through the account’s supply chain.

You will be required to liaise with, manage and advise all contacts associated with your accounts at multiple levels internally and externally.

You will be targeted on business growth opportunities to further penetrate accounts by selling my clients vast array of diverse services in addition to account management and retention.

You will lead solution development that best addresses customer needs.

Maintain all account rates and tariffs, keeping rates up to date and managing yields on a monthly basis.

Present pricing options & recommendations to your customers.

Continually search for and implement cost savings for your customers by improving processes and eliminating waste.

Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis through the creation and utilisation of SOPs, KPIs and other account specific metrics.

Contribute to the development and management of the annual strategic account plan and budget. Providing updates to internal teams in addition to reviewing on a quarterly basis.

Collaborate on creating business reviews and contribute to and/or lead customer initiatives where/when required.

Design and pursue a personal development plan for all your customer in collaboration with internal management.

Skills and experience required

A minimum of 3 years experience in an account management role specifically within a Freight Forwarding/Supply Chain company.

A proven track record of managing mid size retail accounts.

The ability to work well as part of a team but also to work effectively independent, using your own initiative.

Strong ability to persuade, motivate and influence others.

A proven track record of building strong customer relationships.

Excellent presentation skills.

The abilty to define, develop and document business processes and procedures.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good working knowledge of IT and tracker related systems.
