Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a hungry, driven, entrepreneurial Business Development Manager with a proven track record of success selling Airfreight.

Our client was established in 2009 to provide high levels of customer service to a range of clients importing into the UK from Asia via Sea or Air. The company have grown rapidly since then and now offers a range of logistics services across diverse industry sectors.

They are poised for significant growth, with a strategy to double in size over the next 3 years.

£50,000 – £60,000 basic salary (dependent on experience) plus car allowance, uncapped commission structure (6% of all gp for the LIFETIME of the account) free gym membership, private medical, 25 days holiday plus stats, pension, free snacks, payday treats, company social events, employee of the month award (£500 bonus if you win) and much much more…

Your Mission:

Reporting directly into the Head of Airfreight Sales your role will be to generate leads and cold call prospective customers. (Creating a £1.5m plus sales pipeline)

Key Responsibilities:

Generate custom from said pipeline.

Meet with clients, face to face or virtually via Teams.

Build/develop relationships with clients.

Understand the needs of your clients and be able to respond effectively with a solution and plan of how to meet/exceed these.

Have a good understanding of the businesses services and be able to advise others about them.

Skills and experience required

3+ years experience selling Airfreight is essential.

A proven track record generating upwards of £1.5m new business in Airfreight.

Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet/exceed targets.

Ability to work well autonomously and as part of a team.

Good IT Skills including the use of spreadsheets.

Ability to multitask and prioritise your work load.

Strong decision making skills.

A flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to a fast paced ever changing environment.

Can show initiative and are a confident self starter.

Excellent telephone manner for making initial contact and for ongoing communication with clients and business associates.

Good interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
