About this position

Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for an Airfreight Business Development Manager, to be based out of Heathrow, on behalf of a rapidly growing, extremely technology focused Freight Forwarding & Supply Chain Company.

£55,000 – £75,000 basic salary (dependent on experience) plus fully expensed car or car allowance, 6% of GP for the lifetime of your account trading, industry leading benefits package and insane opportunities for career development and progression based on the value you add, not on the length of time you have been within the business.

Your Mission:

Reporting directly into the Head of Airfreight sales, your role will be create a £1m+ sales pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

Generate leads and cold call prospective customers (create a sales pipeline)

Generate custom from said pipeline.

Meet with clients face to face, over the phone / Teams etc.

Build / develop relationships with clients.

Understand the needs of your clients and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet/exceed these.

Have a good understanding of the businesses’ services and be able to advise others about them.

Skills and experience required

3+ years experience selling Airfreight.

Excellent telephone manner for making initial contact and for ongoing communication with clients and business associates.

Good interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients.

Good written and verbal communication skills – needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, in addition to excellent presentation skills.

Strong IT skills, including the use of powerpoint and spreadsheets.

Good decision-making skills.

A flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Initiative and the confidence to start things from scratch.

Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets.

Collaborative working style.

The ability to multitask and prioritise your workload.
