Purpose of the role:

Overall responsibility for daily Branch Operations, including Customer Service, Transport, People and Health and Safety management. Responsible for delivering Branch KPI and customer service.

Main tasks and key responsibilities:

Lead, manage and be accountable for the Branch Operations Team, overseeing all operational activity in relation to Air/Sea/Road freight, ensuring delivery in line with our clients working practices and policies and ensuring excellent customer service is delivered to their customers.

Delivery of Branch/Group KPI’s and revenue targets.

Overall responsibility for successful quote conversion and negotiated quotes at acceptable margin.

Ensuring both internal and external complaints are investigated and responded to promptly and in line with Company guidelines.

Developing a team of high performing people who consistently deliver outstanding customer service, coaching the team for their continuous development through effective 1-2-1’s.

Directly manage, lead and motivate the team within the Branch to ensure the required levels of performance and customer service are being met.

Ensure the team are set clear objectives and development plans reviewing performance on a monthly basis.

In conjunction with Sales, you will be tasked with developing Branch Sales and ensuring the retention and growth of our clients existing customer base, gathering data on customer satisfaction and developing improvement plans as required.

Visit existing and potential customers as appropriate.

Comply with month end financial reporting and budgeting processes as required.

Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Take reasonable care of your own and other people’s Health and Safety and report all hazards, near misses and/or accidents and take action to eliminate or reduce hazards or risks as far as is reasonably practical.

Any other ad-hoc duties as defined by line manager or appointed deputy.

Skills and experience required

Proven success within a Branch Manager or Depot Manager role specifically in the Logistics sector.

Self motivated with the ability to motivate and inspire others.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Confident and tactful.

IT Literate.

Excellent Customer Service skills.

Flexible approach to supporting and delivering business needs.

Proactive in communicating our clients values.
