About this position

Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Business Development Executive, on behalf of a super innovative, technology focused, Freight Forwarding business.

If you’re an operations coordinator or you are working in customer service or inside sales within the logistics sector, or a service based business, and you like the sound of being trained and mentored to become an external Business Development Executive, this opportunity will be right up your street.

You be required to be onsite 2 days a week, with 2 days a week on the road with clients and 1 day a week from home.

£30,000 – £40,000 basic salary (dependent on experience) plus car allowance, 6% of all GP for the lifetime of the account, industry leading emoluments package and excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

Key Responsibilities:

Generate leads and cold call prospective customers (create a sales pipeline)

Generate custom from said pipeline.

Meet with clients face to face, over the phone / Teams etc.

Build / develop relationships with clients.

Understand the needs of your clients and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet/exceed these.

Have a good understanding of our client’s services and the ability to advise customers about the solutions on offer.

Skills and experience required

Experience working as an operations coordinator, working in customer service, or inside sales with a desire and passion to move into external sales.

Excellent telephone manner for making initial contact and for ongoing communication with clients and business associates.

Strong interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills – needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as good presentation skills.

Good IT skills, including the use of spreadsheets.

Ability to work well autonomously and collaborative well as part of a team.

Flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Initiative and the confidence to start things from scratch.

Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets.

The ability to multitask and prioritise your workload.

The ability to motivate yourself and set your own goals.
