About this position

Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for an entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to cover the Midlands, on behalf of a rapidly growing, extremely innovative logistics business.

£60,000 – £70,000 basic salary (dependent on experience) plus £7,000 per year car allowance, uncapped commission structure(6% of all GP generated for the lifetime of your accounts) travel expenses, 25 days holiday plus statutory, pension, package and excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

Your Mission:

Reporting directly into the Sales Director, your role will be to promote and actively sell our clients services; directly and through the resources deployed to you, maintaining a highly motivated outlook. Time management and maximum effort is essential to ensure financial targets are met and exceeded.

Scope of the Role:

Drive new opportunities across the Midlands and ensure personal KPI’s are achieved consistently.

Provide our client with Return On the Investment in you [ROI]

Support the local Sales effort, making direct sales visits and customer service calls where and when necessary.

Fully understand the needs and drivers of the business and how to integrate these into daily tasks.

Be an inspiration to others, able to build strong relationships (internal and external) and influence people.

Maintain a healthy pipeline, continuously replenishing opportunities.

Have a flexible approach as no two days are the same and situations will arise which simply have to be dealt with even if not outlined within the job description.

Work closely with the local team to drive growth and deliver results through the Branch.

Skills and experience required

Previous track record selling Freight Forwarding/Supply Chain, Pallets, General Haulage, Distribution.

Confident in selling and presenting to board level.

An excellent level of insight into the market and customer needs and the drivers of customer experience.

The ability to respond and work at pace on a variety of projects.

Outgoing/engaging and confident individual.

Excellent written and communication skills.

Microsoft Office package.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Pro-active individual with ability to self-manage.

Strong team player keen to work across departments and develop clear recommendations using multiple data sources.

Willing to question and critically evaluate current ways of working.

Full clean driving licence or maximum of 3 points.
