Scope of the Role:

As a result of impressive sustained growth, our client has identified an opportunity for a results driven strategic Business Development Manager to join their journey. You will be tasked with identifying and developing new commercial opportunities with prospects in Glasgow. Creating ‘end to end’ courier solutions tailored to the needs of the customer.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the depot team and Sales Director to implement the sales strategy and business plan for the area, making best use of C&D fleet capacity to collect from prospect customers.

Achieve and exceed sales targets in line with our growth plans across all services.

Define and manage customer prospects to maximise sales growth.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of our product portfolio and all associated features and benefits and to tailor those benefits to the needs of the customer.

Producing regular sales reports and pipeline activity reports.

Use the sales tools in line with the agreed sales process to maintain and develop sales pipeline and customer information.

Engage and motivate clients and prospects through sales excellence and positive energy in your region.

Create relationships with customers and prospects, becoming a trusted advisor.

Follow and evolve the sales processes, working closely with colleagues to ensure the pipeline remains healthy with qualified opportunities that fit our clients commercial focus.

Work with the CFO to present a monthly P&L report.

Work with the management team to ensure a joined up and successful engagement model that drives long term client and company success.

Skills and experience required

Proven ‘hunter’ experience in a Territory Sales or Business Development role within the Logistics/Courier industry is essential.

A proven track record of success selling international e-commerce B2B and B2C is a must.

Consultative selling style, with the ability to create innovative solutions.

It is imperative you have a sound understanding of the international market, including IOSS, DDP and DDU solutions.

A confident and enthusiastic personality, with an ambitious and forward-thinking attitude.

Commercially minded with excellent business acumen.

A quick learner, who is inquisitive and willing to proactively get stuck in.

The ability to follow instructions and use your initiative to make logical decisions.

Meticulous, precise attention to detail, with a desire to get things right the first time.

Excellent communication skills and be extremely personable, polite and professional.

Strong numeracy and excel skills.

A team player able to fit in with our clients company culture.
