About this position

Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for an Ocean Freight focused, Business Development Manager in Rotterdam, on behalf of a globally renowned, super technology focused, Freight Forwarding and Supply Chain business.

€65,000 – €80,000 basic salary (dependent on experience) plus fully expensed car or car allowance, uncapped commission structure, package, flexible working and excellent opportunities for career development and progression based on the value you add, not on the length of time you have been with the business.

Your Mission:

This role is crucial to the growth of our clients Benelux business. Reporting directly into the Head of Sales, you will be tasked with driving growth by acquiring new clients and also developing existing logos.

Your focus will be Ocean Freight.

Target setting: 80% new pure business / 20% retention.

Key Responsibilities:

Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, identifying new business opportunities.

Drive the entire sales process, from prospecting to closure of the business.

Engage with clients at all levels to influence decision making.

Sell to value proposition based on a good understanding of the client needs.

Showcasing innovative solutions.

Generate leads, ensure timely follow-up, and register opportunities in CRM.

Maintain a healthy pipeline of new business opportunities.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding of new business.

Achieve annual KPI’s.

Monitor customer volumes to identify any lost or declining lanes.

Measure performance levels against set targets.

Skills and experience required

Results driven and always on the lookout for new opportunities.

5+ years proven track record in sales within the logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain industry.

Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Persistent and resilient.

Analytical skills and the ability to understand complex RFQ’s.

Fluency in English and Dutch.
