Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Business Development Support Executive to be based out of Nottingham on behalf of a rapidly growing express logistics business.

Scope of the role:

To support the generation of revenue from new customers across our clients network

Support the Sales and Business Development teams in building close and effective working relationships with prospective customers

Support the Sales and Business Development teams in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans.

Support the Sales and Business Development teams in identifying and qualifying opportunities for new business

Qualify inbound opportunities and pass onto a Business Development Manager or Territory Sales Manager in line with company policy.

Build/Manage and Maintain an ongoing pipeline of prospective customers and call lists.

Main Responsibilities:

Make quality new prospect appointments for the Sales and Business Development teams across a range of spends and sectors

Together with the Business Development Managers and Territory Sales Managers, consistently achieve target

Liaise with relevant departments to ensure prospects expectations are always exceeded

Manage your own pipeline of prospects to ensure a constant flow of new business meetings.

Qualify and progress inbound sales enquiries and pass on to a Business Development Manager or Territory Sales Manager.

Work with marketing colleagues to develop and deliver targeted campaigns

Develop short, medium and long term plans to achieve targets

Develop relationships with senior level contacts internal and external

Attend scheduled sales meetings as and when required.


Actual verified appointments for each Business Development Manager and Territory Sales Manager.

Various KPI’s such as call volumes, and sector wins or similar set out within a Monthly/Quarterly 1-2-1 framework.

Revenue growth within the Business Development and Territory Sales teams.

Skills and experience required

Experience within either Parcels /Pallets /Logistics/Supply Chain industry is desirable alternatively a service based business.

Strong sales skills (prospecting, qualifying, networking and campaign management).

Detailed understanding of sales process and demonstration of world-class sales rigour, hunger and determination.

Ability to work well autonomously in addition to being a team player.

A positive attitude with consistent drive and energy.

Excellent time management skills

Proven track record of premium quality appointment setting

Excellent presentation and communication skills

Problem solving abilities; able to facilitate discussions

Ability to travel within our clients network and to work well autonomously.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft i.e. Excel, Word, Email, Access and PowerPoint
