Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a CSM – Ocean Export Manager to be based in Manchester, on behalf of a rapidly growing, extremely forward thinking logistics business.

Scope of the Role:

Reporting directly into the Growth Manager your role will be to inspire the Export Ocean freight team to ring fence and grow clients through exceptional customer service in conjunction with contributing and achieving on our clients strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspire and motivate the team to achieve success with their assigned clients.

Provide clear CSM expectations throughout the team.

Manage work distribution across your team to ensure all work is handled to the highest of standards in the correct timeframe.

Ensure comprehensive cover for all absence (including annual leave and unplanned leave) within the team and when required, personally provide cover.

In conjunction with HR, multi skill people throughout the team to deliver a flexible workforce.

Ensure the team respond to and follow up on all CSM quote enquiries/leads within 24 hours.

Achieve retention of core by ring fencing clients through better buying, service excellence and innovation.

Continuous development of CSM package to enhance our clients value to their clients.

Provide development focus in areas that include route development, new verticals and overseas agents.

Review big data and identify opportunities including profit margins.

Work in conjunction with IT to develop and introduce new digital solutions for clients.

Develop client relationships including attendance at external meetings as and when required.

Identify and open up potential Supply Chain Management and Customs Bureau/Compliance opportunities to share with the New Sales team.

Skills and experience required

Detailed understanding of Export Ocean Freight.

Experience successfully inspiring, managing and motivating teams.

A comprehensive understanding of all core business and the CSM requirements to ensure service excellence standards are met and exceeded.

Experience of, or a willingness to undertake training for a strategic approach.

Proven experience in understanding client requirements and identifying new opportunities for growth.

Strong organisational skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues, clients and suppliers.
