Vidu are working on a really exciting opportunity on behalf of one of the UK’s leading distribution companies, in the search for a field based Customer Development Team Manager to cover the Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity within a transforming business, to be leading, managing and coaching the Customer Development team within the Midlands region.

Role/Responsibilities:

The purpose of the role will be the tactical deployment of the company strategy and business plan. You’ll be managing the existing Key, SME and Core client relationships whilst delivering customer retention, development and profitability in line with the Company and Regional expectations and standards.
Ultimately improving the overall customer experience and creating value.

You’ll have full responsible for the Key and Core SME clients retention, relationship and profitability, across Tiers 2 & 3 primarily. You’ll work closely with regional sales teams and operational colleagues to support the integration and on-boarding of new key clients.

Managing accurate budget processes and resolving commercial issues ensuring product and freight compatibility and profile trade in line with contracts across all areas. You’ll be required to explore additional income opportunities including internationally.

You’ll be leading and managing monthly business reviews with existing client base whilst also negotiating and delivering annual rate reviews.

Skills and experience required

Ideally you will have experience of working in the same or similar type customer facing role within the Logistics sector, or a serviced based industry.

A proven track record of successfully leading and managing a team.

A strong communicator and presenter at all levels.

Good stakeholder management and negotiation skills.

The ability to build long term sustainable, profitable and professional business relationships.

The ability to coach, develop and mentor.

Previous experience of performance management.
