Vidu are running an exciting search for a Customer Service Executive for a Freight Forwarding and Logistics Company with a Head Office based out of Heathrow.
Your role will be to support both the Sales Manager and Branch Manager when required to do so and process any air, sea or road shipments from start to finish. You will be tasked with promoting all the services that our client has to offer and provide an excellent level of customer service to existing and potential customers.
Our client has engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search process.
Vidu’s team of dedicated consultants will be your first point of contact when applying for this role.
The Job Role:
To ensure all telephone calls / e-mails are answered in a timely fashion
Make regular calls to potential customers to arrange sales visits for either the Sales Manager or Branch Manager and to also try to gain opportunities to quote
Arrange collections, bookings with carriers and negotiate the best possible buy rates
Prepare documentation, complete customs entries and set up job files
Ensure customers are given regular updates on the progress of their bookings and ensure they are invoiced promptly
Monitor stationary levels and ensure they are replenished when they are at a level that requires them to be
A sound knowledge of either Air or Ocean Freight and experience in a customer service role within the industry
Excellent telephone manner
An advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications I.E Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc
Excellent attention to detail and a real pride in your work
Ability to work on your own initiative
A team player who is willing to learn and adapt to any given task
Excellent time management and the ability to work to tight deadlines
Good communication skills
Comfortable cold calling to increase the client base
A proven track record of providing a professional and excellent level of customer service
Educated to a minimum GCSE
