Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Customs Clearance Clerk – Import and Export, on behalf of a rapidly growing eCommerce distribution business based in Slough.

This is an opportunity for you to strategically support a fast paced operational and commercial business as a Customs Clearance Clerk – Import and Export and be the key contact for Customs Queries and outbound and inbound Data flows.

Your Mission:

You will be developed to take full responsibility for customs clearance using Descartes and CCS UK, data analysis, reporting, accounting, and proactive managing all administrative queries for customs clearance, ETSF, AEO status.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring compliance of standard operating procedures for Customs Clearance, ETSF and AEO processes.

Experience of import and export entries in CDS , DESCARTES ,CCS U.K.NCTS.

Producing T1, T2 , TAD and discharging T1, creating transit documents.

Extensive experience of managing duties and taxes with HMRC, including PVA and Non PVA entries.

Producing MAWB for exports and using NCTS system.

Responding to requests for customs services providing effective and efficient solutions to facilitate adherence to operational and service deadlines.

Collaboration with internal customers to maximise synergies and promote cross team, branch interactions and communications.

Direct liaison with customers and Customs authorities such as HMRC and other agencies.

Support HMRC, ETSF, AEO audits, internal AEO monitoring activities and HMRC assurance events.

Lead the department to resolve day to day customs clearance issues and queries.

Skills and experience required

Knowledge of AIR, ROAD and SEA freight clearance.

Experience working in supply chain/logistics industry.

Comprehension of Customs procedures and formalities.

Knowledge of and familiarity with UK CDS system and proprietary software systems (DESCARTES ), NCTS etc.

Familiar with Microsoft Office programs and Data Freight.

Leadership skills with proven track record.

Excellent problem solving and analysis skills.

Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.

Excellent communication skills.

Supportive and coaching capabilities.

Extensive Customer Service experience.

3rd party logistics experience, day to day operational topics and communication.

Service-orientated, track record of managing and improving KPI’s.
