Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Customs Compliance Manager on behalf of a rapidly growing, technology driven, logistics business.

Scope of the role:

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will be tasked with ensuring achievement of KPI’s through a well-motivated and knowledgeable Bureau.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

Have full ownership of our clients Bureau operations team, providing excellence in all cross border entries.

With a comprehensive understanding of all core business and the operations requirements, ensure service excellence standards are met and exceeded.

Develop positive partnerships with clients, agents and suppliers.

Work seamlessly to support the work of the CSM team, ensuring all SOP’s are adhered to.

Identify and deliver operational efficiencies and productivity gains in conjunction with the IT team for both short and long-term goals.

Drive efficiency throughout the team, using and proposing digital solutions and partner with an outsource company to enhance the operation.

Identify and deliver increased revenue in line with current KPI’s.

Achieve job profitability targets as specified in the budget, deploying better buying and achieving revenue opportunities.

Have a comprehensive understanding of the current budget, its opportunities and constraints, to deliver the GP v staff cost ratio.

Ensure that all invoicing, profits, WIP’s and accruals are complete in line with company policy.

Report the EGP by 5th of the following month.

Implement all new business, providing the client with a great experience.

Contribute to budgeting, reporting, planning and auditing.

Achieve monthly operational KPI’s as specified.

Identify and proactively address problems and opportunities.

Leadership:

Provide inspired leadership for the team.

Develop and motivate the team to ensure your people are happy and well motivated.

In conjunction with HR, multiskill people throughout the team to deliver a flexible workforce.

Promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high moral.

Ensure comprehensive cover for all absence within the team and when required, personally provide cover.

Compliance:

Develop, implement and review operational policies, system workflows and procedures.

Deliver full compliance to the company credit policy throughout the team in conjunction with the Finance team.

Ensure full compliance of all people in Brexit movements.

Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.

At all times represent and act in the best interest of our client, their shareholders and their employees.

Communication:

Attend weekly check-in meeting with Operations Director.

Attend monthly Operations catch-up meeting.

Deliver monthly staff huddle.

Meetings with clients, partners and suppliers as required.

Report on monthly KPI’s.

Full collaboration with Operations, Growth, IT & HR.

Skills and experience required

In depth knowledge of current industry regulations.

In depth knowledge of HMRC requirements for all new cross border entries with EU including EIDR.

In depth knowledge of import and export HMRC requirements for frontier clearances, bonded goods, IPR, OPR, CFSP and Customs Warehousing.

In depth knowledge of Duty & VAT.

Good Organisational skills.

IT Proficient and a willingness to embrace all IT solutions.

Ability to motivate and develop your team.

Strong interpersonal skills internally and with government bodies.

Clear and accurate reporting reporting.
