About this position

Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Customs Specialist on behalf of a rapidly growing, extremely innovative logistics business. If you have a minimum of 3 years experience specialising in Customs for importers and exporters and like the sound of progressing your career over time to becoming a Client Consultant on all customs matters, this role will be right up your street.

Our client has engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search.

Scope of the Role:

Reporting directly into the Customs Bureau Manager, you will be tasked with providing a knowledgeable import and export customs service to defined clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Responsibility:
Provide excellence in all cross border customs entries.

With a comprehensive understanding of all core business and the operations requirements, ensure service excellence standards are met and exceeded.

Develop positive partnerships with clients, agents and suppliers.

Work seamlessly to support the work of the CSM team, ensuring all SOP’s are adhered to.

Identify and deliver operational efficiencies and productivity gains in conjunction with the IT team for both short and long-term goals.

Drive efficiency throughout the team, using and proposing digital solutions.

Implement all new business, providing the client with a great experience.

Contribute to budgeting, reporting, planning and auditing.

Identify and proactively address problems and opportunities.

Compliance
:

Develop, implement and review operational policies, system workflows and procedures.

Deliver full compliance to the company credit policy throughout the team in conjunction with the Finance team.

Ensure full compliance of all people in Brexit movements.

Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.

At all times represent and act in the best interest of the company, the shareholders and the employees.

Complete other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested.

Work in accordance with the company values to maintain a positive environment with all teams across all departments.

Communication:

Attend team meetings as and when required.

Meetings with clients, partners and suppliers as required.

Full collaboration with all internal teams.

Skills and experience required

In depth knowledge of current industry regulations.

In depth knowledge of HMRC requirements for all new cross border entries with EU including EIDR and subsequent legislation moving forward.

Strong interpersonal skills internally and with Government bodies.

In depth knowledge of import and export HMRC requirements for frontier clearances, bonded goods, IPR, OPR, CFSP and Customs Warehousing.

In depth knowledge of Duty & VAT.

A proven track record delivering service excellence.

Good organisational skills.

IT proficient and open to embracing all IT solutions.
