Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Depot Sales Manager on behalf of an innovative, rapidly growing express logistics business.

This role will be based out of our clients Swindon Depot.

Our client has engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search process.

Our team of dedicated consultants will be your first point of contact when applying for this role.

Overall Role Purpose:

To ensure that our clients home Service Centre exceeds its revenue budget, by:

Exceeding their personal new business budget / target.

Managing the customer base with relevant Service Centre colleagues to ensure minimal attrition.

Building close and effective working relationships with a network of contacts within prospective customers.

Developing and implementing market sector development plans within their own catchment area.

Identifying and qualifying customer opportunities for new product sales.

Developing a good working relationship with all Group departments.

Developing and broadening relationship with existing customers while identifying and qualifying opportunities for new product sales.

Maximising sales penetration within each customer by selling the complete range of our clients services.

Main Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Service Centre General Manager and Sales Director to implement the sales strategy and business plan for the Area.

Define target list of customer prospects based on clearly defined criteria that maximises return for our client.

Achieve and exceed sales targets in line with our clients growth plan across all services.

Work with the Bid Management Team, to deliver effective tender responses to specific customer opportunities.

Manage customer relationships relevant to their home Service Centre by engaging in personal ownership of the largest customers, whilst ensuring that other Service Centre team members engage with, and retain the lower spending customers.

Define a thorough account plan for each customer inclusive of a clear contact strategy and set objectives.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of our clients Group product portfolio and all associated features and benefits and to tailor those benefits to the needs of the customer.

Track performance of accounts, opportunity and scope to build and maintain customer relations.

Manage service performance within the account portfolio and to be an escalation point for any service related issues.

Submit accurate and timely business forecasts.

Attend team meetings (Service Centre and Regional Sales) and contribute as necessary on own individual performance, prepare for manager review meetings and complete sales activity reports accurately and on time.

Use the sales tools in line with the agreed sales process to maintain and develop sales pipeline and customer information.

Measures:

Achievement of revenue budgets at home Service Centre.

Customer retention at home Service Centre.

Profile Reviews all up to date within the customer base at home Service Centre.

Un-Invoiced and Overdue Debt at home Service Centre managed to within agreed “threshold” limits.

Personal Specifications:

Skills and experience required

Extensive experience within Parcel, Mail, Express, Retail or the FMCG sector.

Strong sales skills (prospecting, qualifying, networking and campaign management).

Detailed understanding of sales process and demonstration of world class sales rigor, hunger and determination.

Proven track record of closing major opportunities. Professional sales and negotiating training.

Proven sales ability with historic success at exceeding new business targets, whilst excelling at customer retention through professional account management, development and planning skills.

Excellent presentation skills.

Problem solving abilities; able to facilitate discussions.

Able to travel within designated territory and able to work with the minimum of supervision.
