About this position

Vidu are working in a super exciting assignment in the search for a Director of Freight Sales in Helsinki on behalf of a rapidly growing, extremely innovative logistics business.

€100,000-€120,000 basic salary (dependent on experience and inclusive of holiday allowance) fully expensed car, travel expenses, KPI related bonus structure, 25 days holiday plus statutory and pension.

Our client has engaged with Vidu VIP to commence the initial search.

Your Mission:

Reporting directly into the CCO, you will manage and develop Region North by leading a small team of salespeople in addition to customer service, ensuring to stay close to new and existing customers at any given time.

You will be an important sparring partner for Product Heads when discussing business opportunities as well as development initiatives.

Key Tasks:

Overall responsibility for our clients local office in Finland.

Lead and steer a small team of salespeople.

Manage agency agreement (s) and follow up on performance where needed.

Take an active role in developing our clients products range in the Nordics.

Actively generate and qualify new business opportunities from existing and new customers.

Negotiate contracts, close deals, and arrange proper handover to Execution.

Contribute with market insights in developing pricing structure.

Report on a regular basis local sales activity, including funnel report.

Lead and manage weekly sales meetings.

Participate in regular management (F2F) meetings.

Attend exhibitions and conferences where you will represent our client.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as our clients management representative in the Nordics and ensure the well being of the local colleagues.

Commercial focus on retaining and growing business in the Nordics together with a dedicated sales team

Be the strategic account owner for selected BCOs and develop them further.

Co-develop our clients core products in the region.

Ensure a healthy sales pipeline at all times.

Design and negotiate profitable contracts.

Represent the business in the best way possible.

Skills and experience required

At least 10 years’ experience in an internationally oriented commercial (leadership) role, ideally within – logistics (Shortsea/Trailer/Intermodal)

Sound working knowledge of the English language. (Knowledge of other European languages would be desirable)

Good knowledge of MS Office packages / CRM etc.
