About this position

Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for an individual experienced in Export Seafreight Operations, to join a rapidly growing, forward thinking logistics business in Manchester.

Dependent on experience the role is positioned at circa £35,000 – £37,500 basic salary, plus 10% company profit bonus, 5% pension, life insurance, Income Protection, plus holidays and excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

Scope of the Role:

Reporting directly into the Operations Manager of Seafreight Exports, you will be working as part of the seafreight export team, tasked with delivering service excellence to assigned clients, managing the full export process and supporting the Export Operations Manager with supervisory tasks and cover.

Key Responsibilities:

Export Operations:
Ensure service excellence standards are met and exceeded for all clients assigned to the role.

Work seamlessly to support the work of the CSM team, ensuring all SOP’s are adhered to.

Identify and deliver operational efficiencies and productivity gains in conjunction with the IT team for both short and long-term goals.

Drive efficiency throughout the team, using and proposing digital solutions and partner with an outsource company to enhance the operation.

Achieve job profitability targets as specified in the budget, deploying better buying and achieving revenue opportunities.

Ensure that all invoicing, profits, WIP’s and accruals are complete in line with company policy.

Implement all new business, providing the client with a great experience.

Contribute to budgeting, reporting, planning and auditing as requested by the Operations Manager.

Achieve monthly operational KPI’s as specified.

Identify, address and resolve problems and highlight any opportunities to the Operations Manager.

Develop positive partnerships with clients, agents and suppliers.

Compliance:

Deliver full compliance to the company credit policy throughout the team in conjunction with the Finance team.

At all times represent and act in the best interest of the company, the shareholders and the employees.

Complete other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested

Work in accordance with the company values to maintain a positive environment with all teams across all departments.

Communication:

Ongoing contact with the Operations Manager – Seafreight Exports.

Regular communication with all team members.

Meetings with clients, partners and suppliers as required.

Skills and experience required

A comprehensive understanding of client and operational requirements to ensure service excellence standards are met and exceeded.

Sound experience in all Export documentation.

Experience with CargoWise is highly desirable.

Good attention to detail.

The ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously in an organised and efficient manner with high energy.

Open to contributing ideas to improve efficiency.

Competency in delivering operational excellence.

A desire and willingness to learn, progress and grow with the business.
