Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a commercially aware Finance Business Partner to support the International division of a rapidly growing, extremely innovative express logistics business.

Scope of the Role:

Reporting directly into the International Finance Manager you will work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders including operations, fulfilment, and the International Outbound & Inbound teams. It’s imperative you have the ability to take initiative and produce results, as you will be tasked with helping to shape the financial processes across all areas of our clients international business. This role will involve business partnering, ad-hoc analysis and reconciliation that will require a high attention to detail and back-up to support decision-making.

The growth of our clients business and the increasing complexity from new launches and services, makes this role an exciting, interesting, and rewarding proposition. Expect to get involved in supporting new projects and initiatives, improving performance, and building plans for the future. You will also be involved in managing regular reporting, forecasting, and general operational planning. The role is very broad and requires someone who is sensitive to (and understands) the diverse perspectives of each key stakeholder and who can work closely with them to deliver results.

You will be accountable for:

Providing and maintaining the financial overview of the site’s weekly and periodic performance.

Developing a close working relationship with the Site Management team ensuring all site management costs are available through regular reports and site team meetings.

Reviewing labour resource planning against budget and forecasted volumes.

Managing the purchase order requests from the depot, and ensuring payment processes are adhered to and deadlines are met.

Delivering weekly reports of outstanding billing issues and outstanding purchase orders.

Liaising with finance in the production of period end numbers ensuring all associated costs are posted and accruals and provisions have been agreed at a senior level.

Ensuring all International Inbound & Outbound volumes are tracked, and compare variances against forecast to produce trend analysis to assist forward planning.

Ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met, Payroll, agency costings etc.

Providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial reports to business operations.

Building partnerships and strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams and providing financial support to commercial decision making.

Presenting financial performance, rolling forecasts and budget variances including understanding financial opportunities and risk.

Challenging current ways of working, driving efficiencies and cost savings wherever possible.

Understanding the cost drivers of the business and providing insight to the non-finance members.

Evaluating current capital expenditures and operational costs.

Identifying trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement.

Coordinating with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts.

Skills and experience required

Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA or other accounting related study (Degree level accounting qualification preferable but not essential)

2+ years’ experience in finance, financial planning & analysis within Logistics or Fulfilment.

The ability to simplify and improve inefficient or unnecessarily complex processes.

Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modelling.

The ability to build positive business relationships and work collaboratively.

A strategic thinker with excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

The ability to work autonomously and well as part of a team as part of your role will be to share knowledge, coach and develop other team members.
