Vidu is working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a financial leader to help build the finance function on behalf of an ambitious, high growth eCommerce distribution business.

This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy, systems, and commercial success of a rapidly growing company.

$130,000 – $150,000 basic salary (dependent on experience) plus KPI related bonus, benefits package and excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

Our client is an ambitious, high-growth eCommerce distribution business who have recently launched a dedicated returns business in the United States with the backing of two highly successful multi-million turnover brands operating across the UK, US and rest of world.

Combining the agility of a start-up with the financial strength, operational expertise and proven success of 2 established businesses, they are building the most powerful out-of-home parcel network in the US.

Your Mission:

Reporting directly to the founders and executive leadership team, you will take ownership of all financial operations while acting as a strategic business partner.

This isn’t a role where you’ll inherit someone else’s systems—you’ll create them.

You’ll have the autonomy to influence business decisions, implement best practices, and help shape the financial future of an exciting growth company supported by the experience, infrastructure, and success of two established multi-million turnover businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Finance:
Partner with the founders on business strategy and financial planning.

Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modelling.

Deliver insightful management reporting and KPI dashboards.

Analyse profitability by customer, product, and sales channel.

Support investment decisions and strategic growth initiatives.

Identify opportunities to improve margins, efficiency, and cash generation.

Financial Leadership:
Own the month-end and year-end close process.

Produce accurate management accounts and board reporting.

Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital.

Ensure financial integrity through strong internal controls.

Oversee banking relationships and treasury management.

Operational Finance:
Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general accounting.

Oversee inventory accounting and cost control.

Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation.

Support purchasing, logistics, and operations with financial insight.

Develop scalable finance processes suitable for a growing business.

Compliance & Governance:
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and all regulatory requirements.

Manage external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors.

Coordinate federal, state, and local tax compliance.

Maintain robust financial policies and risk management procedures.

Systems & Technology:
Lead finance system improvements and automation projects.

Optimise ERP and accounting software.

Improve reporting through automation and business intelligence tools.

Champion continuous process improvement across the finance function.

Skills and experience required

5+ years of progressive finance experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.

CPA preferred (or working towards certification).

Experience leading accounting and finance operations.

Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.

Advanced Excel proficiency.

Experience with ERP/accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or similar.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
