About this position

Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Freight Forwarder on behalf of one of the UK’s leading transport providers.

Our client has engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search process.

Our team of dedicated consultants will be your first point of contact when applying for this role.

You will be part of a team responsible for operating and developing existing key customers and for nurturing and developing future accounts. You will be tasked with planning and managing the full weekly schedule for 10+ own trailers and for increasing profitability and customer service.

Role Purpose:

To increase profitability and customer service.

To develop both existing and new relationships with subcontractors focusing on the UK National trailer and Van market.

To support our clients supply chain strategy.

Create processes to be implemented throughout the company in relation to Import/Export Full trailer load carrier management.

Negotiating costs with carriers.

Deal with a strong network of Full trailer load carriers.

Skills and experience required

A logistics background, ideally Freight Forwarding.

Full Trailer Load experience including National UK and Import/Export.

A proven track record of managing customers expectations and developing sales.

Strong Leadership and Communication skills are essential.

Previous experience of working towards KPI’s and recording information accurately and to tight deadlines. 

Ideally you will have knowledge of Tachograph and European regulations.

Excellent influencing skills and the ability to manage customers expectations.

Monthly Profit and Loss.

Financial awareness.

Excellent planning skills.

Ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative.

Proven track record of pro-active sales generation.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems.

Ability to work to a structured price guide.

Strong negotiation skills.

Second European language.
