Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a commercially focused General Manager to manage our clients Warehouse in Fareham Reach, Gosport.
This is an 8 – 12 month contract with the view to going permanent.
Our client has engaged with Vidu VIP to commence the inital search.

Your Mission:
Reporting directly into the Managing Director you will be accountable for 3-6 Supervisors and 27-70 Employees.
You will support the business in the achievement of service level agreements, including all KPI’s. You will facilitate the creation and delivery of profitable service solutions in a competitive environment. You will drive the development of a robust and engaged team, enhancing a customer-oriented and solutions-focused culture.
You will be required to support and challenge all internal departments to drive continuous improvements through the Company’s culture and values. You will ensure service levels continue to exceed targets whilst ensuring compliance with processes, policies & procedures is maintained.
Main Responsibilities:
Ensuring Health and Safety is at the core of what you do, and that your colleagues have a safe working environment.
Assist the development of meaningful, achievable budgets and other short/long term strategic goals.
Control costs and forecast performance against the budget to ensure that your department meets the business revenue and profit target.
You will have the overall responsibility for ensuring the company service levels are always achieved.
Manage the sites leadership teams to achieve operational delivery performance and adherence to all KPIs.
Lead the culture on site, building an engaging workplace, with high level operational standards and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Work closely with customers to allow for collaborative working and the achievement of shared goals and objectives.
You will ensure risk is effectively managed and escalated.
Comply with all health & safety regulations for site and setting a clear expectation for your team to adhere to all site regulations.
Effectively manage all performance related issues with direct and indirect staff, including training, investigations and formal disciplinary when required.
In addition, and on occasion you may:
Undertake reasonable requests from Managers in line with the range and scope of the post.
Carry out all people management tasks aligned with HR processes for accountable employees.
Support other sites when required.
Be a contributing factor to securing new clients beyond the existing customer base.
8+ years logistics experience in a freight forwarding, customs brokerage and/or warehouse environment.
A proven track record mentoring, developing and leading successful teams.
Commercially aware with a strong business acumen and the development of business opportunities.
Strong customer focussed attributes.
Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, metric driven environment and adaptable to changing priorities.
Organised and planned approach to work and the ability to ensure that the team achieve set targets.
Previous P&L ownership experience.
Advanced IT Skills.
