About this position

Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Global Business Development Manager for the Fulfilment division of a rapidly growing, technology focused eCommerce distribution business.

£60,000 basic salary, plus £5,000 per year car allowance, all travel expenses, uncapped commission structure (1% of all revenue generated) package and excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

Scope of the Role:

This role is expected to deliver revenue and profit growth against targets focused on growing a defined customer base for the newly formed Fulfilment Division of our clients business. Primary focus on selling Fulfilment and outbound delivery services (both domestic and International) to both existing and new clients and working with Operational and Account Management teams to implement and onboard into BAU.

This role is very high profile within our clients business and you will be exposed to all senior people within the business, which leads to strong development opportunities.

You will work within a fast-moving and dynamic environment with a great team who have a really strong work ethos. This will give you the opportunity to work/learn from some of the best in the industry.

You will be accountable for:

Sourcing and qualifying potential new fulfilment clients that meet the profile for fulfilment (such as fast-moving consumer goods, low SKU count with International scope)

Working with our clients Account Management and Sales Teams to identify target customers and build an appropriate sales pipeline.

Maintaining an accurate Live, In Discussion, Prospect list using a CRM System to ensure a coherent and “one business approach” across our clients Corporate and Strategic Sales Teams.

Generating revenue and profit to meet sales targets focussing on high profit rate mix and longevity.

Understanding the clients’ needs and sell appropriate services directly, engaging with key stakeholders across the wider business.

Maintaining the expected level of business performance and activity with client calls, meetings and onsite visits to drive client satisfaction.

Working with internal departments so that they are aware of the pipeline of prospective clients and engaged in implementation as the client ambassador by managing each closed client through implementation for an agreed nursery period and completing an effective hand over to account management.

Negotiating and closing contracts with clients so that terms and conditions meet the businesses objectives and strategic milestones.

Skills and experience required

It is essential you have and can demonstrate sound knowledge of eCommerce fulfilment and understand the parcel distribution industry, ideally with a retail/ecommerce/ logistics/parcel/technology background.

A proven track record overachieving on sales targets of £1.5m+ per annum.

Evidence of ‘owning’ the customer from initial identification, commercial negotiation, sale, operational design and implementation through to structured handover to Client Development.

Proven knowledge of key involvement to contract negotiations and the ability to contribute to legal decisions and input.

Ensuring your customers on-board on time and you forecast, volume and product profile.

Excellent written, verbal and presentation communications.

The ability to work to tight timescales, under pressure and at pace.

Ability to demonstrate both a commercially focused and client focused operating style.

Relevant industry degree (business management / logistics) advantageous but not essential.

Must have the capability to work on your own initiative, be self-motivated, on occasion working unsociable hours, which will include extensive travel.

Must be articulate and comfortable when dealing with people at all levels, with much emphasis placed on verbal communication.

Proven and credible operating at Board level.

Full UK Driving Licence.
