Vidu is working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Group Sales Director in the Northwest of England, on behalf of a rapidly growing, technology focused logistics business.

This role would be suited to a Head of Sales or Commercial Professional ready to step their career up a gear, or a Sales Director/ Commercial Director looking for an opportunity to move away from all the red tape and unionisation of a corporate, and really put their own stamp on something, in turn been instrumental in progressing this £100m UK turnover business to the next stage of their ambitious growth plan and strategy for the UK arm of their Group.

It is imperative you have an entrepreneurial mindset, together with strong financial and marketing management skills, good organisational ability, and excellent interpersonal qualities.

You must be prepared to leave your ego at the door if you want to succeed in this business, as their culture is very much centred around collaboration and people first. Their employees are seen, heard, connected and motivated by the leadership team daily, it is important this continues.

£90,000 – £110,000 basic salary (dependent on experience) plus a car allowance, KPI related bonus structure, package and INSANE opportunities for career development and progression.

Your Mission:

As a strategic and results-driven Group Sales Director you will be tasked with leading and optimising the commercial and sales performance across our clients three brands – operating in the UK.

This is a high-impact leadership role in which you will have full autonomy to drive high impact growth initiatives alongside the senior leadership team, in addition to been responsible for driving revenue growth, managing sales and development teams, and expanding market share.

Your role will be heavily focused on maximising business growth by developing and implementing commercial strategies based on the business targets set and promoting business growth.

You will oversee the Sales Managers across all 3 entities, ensuring they are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and are delivering strong sales performance across all channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership & Strategy:
Provide overall strategic leadership to the Network sales and Network development teams, ensuring alignment with our UK’s growth objectives.

Develop and execute a high-performance sales strategy to drive revenue growth across all three businesses.
Define, optimize and implement sales processes that enhance pipeline management, forecasting, and sales productivity.

Lead cross-brand sales initiatives, leveraging synergies between all 3 businesses.

Foster a results-oriented sales culture, ensuring teams are motivated, well-trained, and equipped to achieve ambitious targets.

Network Development:
Lead and develop the Network development team, ensuring the recruitment, onboarding, and support of franchisees aligns with commercial goals.

Drive network expansion, attracting high-calibre partners and ensuring sustainable network growth.

Provide commercial guidance and strategic insights to the network owners, ensuring they maximise revenue and business potential.

Oversee sales training and coaching programs for the network, equipping them with the necessary tools to succeed.

Commercial Partnerships & Key Account Development:
Manage and develop key commercial partnerships, driving revenue through strategic alliances and enterprise sales.

Oversee high-value contract negotiations with corporate clients, carriers, and suppliers, ensuring competitive terms.

Identify new revenue streams and business opportunities, expanding our clients market reach.

Collaborate with internal teams to align commercial offerings with customer needs and market trends.

Sales Operations & Performance Management:
Oversee sales analytics, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring data-driven decision-making.

Implement key performance metrics (KPIs) to track success across the Sales management and Network development.

Continuously review and enhance sales processes, incentive structures, and performance management frameworks.

Drive operational excellence by ensuring the adoption of CRM systems, reporting tools, and sales automation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership:
Work closely with Marketing, Finance, Product Development, and Operations to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.

Lead and mentor a team of Managers and network partners, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement.

Serve as a key member of the Group UK senior leadership team, contributing to the overall strategic direction.

Skills and experience required

Experience in logistics, parcels, network development, or a B2B services sector is essential.

8 – 10 years in senior sales or commercial leadership roles, with proven success in sales, network development, B2B sales, and commercial growth.

Strong background in managing Sales Managers and Network Managers, with a track record of delivering revenue growth and sales excellence.

Degree qualified (Masters is desirable but not essential)

Extensive experience in sales strategy, new business development, and commercial partnerships.

Strong commercial acumen with experience in contract negotiation, pricing strategies, and business development.

Analytical mindset with a strong grasp of sales forecasting, pipeline management, and market analysis.

Exceptional negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
