Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Head of Bid and Proposal Management on behalf of a market leading Express business.

Scope of Role:
To lead, manage and develop Bid and Proposal Management in the UK in order to ensure a high success rate in winning bids, developing winning proposals, collaborating with our clients group companies, and supporting regional teams to meet the revenue targets for the UK Express Sales Channels.
Develop and implement effective bid management strategies that both sustain and drive revenue growth, by leading the Bid and Proposal Management Group as a channel of sale.
To achieve targeted win and short listed KPI’s within customer deadlines, whilst ensuring that you maximise the win ratio, both number and revenue, for the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure achievement of team performance and revenue targets in-line with agreed KPI’s.
Attend strategically important customer pre-tender meetings with bid owners to influence the bid position.
Attend strategically important post-bid customer meetings to capture and action customer feedback on overall tender experience.
Develop and implement the UK bid strategy, in terms of team profile, bid processes, reporting and supporting tools.
Communicate the bid strategy to all internal stakeholders to ensure understanding and alignment.
Ensure that Bid and Proposal management meets the support requirements of internal stakeholders – sales management, functional departments, other countries, regions and business units.
Interface with other divisions of the Group through joint bids and facilitate regular tender meetings.
Ensure alignment between the tender strategy and approach with the Sales and Marketing wider business plans.
Develop and implement bid processes, quality standards and best practice methods within Bid and Proposal management.
Formulate an annual action plan for the Bid and Proposal team, assign goals and KPI’s to be achieved by team membersDesign, communicate and implement a highly effective bid screening and qualification process to support go/no go recommendations.
Lead the establishment, maintenance and extension of the UK Knowledge Base.
Lead the design and implementation of bid/sales support tools to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
Drive continual improvement programs to improve tender processes.
Manage performance standards that meet customer and internal stakeholder expectations.
Provide regular management reporting to highlight bid results and communicate successes.
Ensure issues are channelled and or escalated to Senior Management for awareness, resolution or arbitration.
To become an industry expert within the APMP structure.
Share best practice with industry and been seen as a leader of best practice.
Recognised as a leading practitioner within the bid industry.
Define organisational structure, roles, critical success factors, performance targets and goals of UK Bid management.
Lead, recruit, train and mentor a team of bid managers and coordinators. Ensure their understanding and application of bid process/tools to create best in class bid responses.
Develop a team culture that strives for excellence and quality.
Promote bid managements vision, mission, work ethics and passion for bidding with all internal stakeholders and wider business community.
Minimum of 4 to 5 years in a bid, tendering environment in a senior management role.
2 to 3 years experience in managing projects and processes.
Previous supply chain, logistics knowledge and market understanding would be desirable.
5 years sales experience.
Strong understanding of strategic proposal techniques and processes.
Ability to work within a pressurised environment, with heavy workloads and strict deadlines.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven team building and leadership skills.
Experienced in managing processes and projects.
Quality driven.
APMP accreditation to Practitioner level.
Trained via Strategic Proposals or other Bid Management Systems.
