Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Head of Operations – Warehouse & Fulfilment, on behalf of rapidly growing, technology focused logistics business.

£60,000 – £65,000 basic salary( dependent on experience) plus KPI related bonus, package and excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

Your Mission:

As a Head of Operations, you will lead and elevate our clients warehousing and fulfilment functions across wholesale and e-commerce channels.

This is a pivotal leadership role in which you will focus on scaling operations, embedding best practices, and driving continuous improvement across their flagship Stoke facility.

You will be instrumental in optimising the full end-to-end supply chain performance, ensuring service excellence, and delivering measurable results in efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Strategy & Execution:
Oversee all aspects of warehouse and fulfilment operations, ensuring safety, accuracy, and productivity.
Design and implement scalable operational strategies aligned with business growth objectives.
Introduce lean principles, automation, and KPI-driven management to enhance performance and service levels.

Leadership & People Development:
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of operational managers and frontline staff.
Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Lead succession planning and skills development initiatives to future-proof operational capabilities.

Fulfilment & Logistics Management:
Manage all inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
Oversee inventory integrity, accuracy, and optimisation to support business demand and stock turn targets.
Continuously refine fulfilment workflows to enhance speed, accuracy, and customer satisfaction across B2B and D2C channels.

Technology & Process Innovation:
Maximise utilisation of our clients Warehouse Management System and tech platforms to improve operational visibility and support decision-making.
Identify automation opportunities and lead technology integrations to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Cost Control & Performance Optimisation:
Manage departmental budgets, P&L accountability, and resource planning to deliver on financial targets.
Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising operational standards or service quality.

Quality, Compliance & Risk Management:
Implement robust quality control frameworks to ensure accuracy, compliance, and product integrity.
Enforce health and safety standards, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and internal policies.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
Act as a key operational partner to Sales, Procurement, Customer Service, and IT teams.
Align operational activities with commercial objectives to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Reporting & Data-Driven Insight:
Own operational KPIs and develop regular reports on productivity, cost efficiency, service levels, and inventory performance.
Use data analytics to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities for ongoing optimisation.

Skills and experience required

(6+ years) in operational leadership within warehousing, fulfilment, or logistics—ideally across both wholesale and e-commerce sectors.

Demonstrated success in scaling operations, implementing WMS, and leading logistics strategies.

Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, coach, and inspire diverse teams.

Excellent analytical, project management, and decision-making capabilities.

Familiarity with lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Supply chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field would be advantageous but not essential.

This role may require occasional travel to other group sites.
