Vidu are working on a really exciting assignment on behalf of a leading logistics company in the search for a Head of Sales with a proven track record of developing, mentoring and motivating highly successful sales / business development teams.

Our client are on a really exciting journey and have some ambitious growth plans for 2019 in terms of their growth and development all over Europe and in the USA.

Based on their growth plan and strategy, they are looking to appoint a very entrepreneurial, driven Head of Sales with a proven track record of developing hugely successful sales teams.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven Head of Sales to be a part of a rapidly growing business, develop, mentor and inspire the existing sales teams and also assist our client in achieving a 4 x growth in 2019.

Reporting directly into the Group Managing Director you will be responsible for overseeing and developing Sales for the European market, working to assist the existing sales teams in securing new business across a wide range of industries.

Skills and experience required

Time critical experience is preferred, minimum of 5 years experience of managing, motivating, mentoring and growing highly successful sales / business teams in the freight forwarding sector.

A proven track record of leading from the front and the ability to demonstrate a sound sales track record of new business wins in addition to managing a team.

A hunger and drive to ensure your sales team can be the best they can be, and instil in them an attitude which always sees them going the extra mile for their clients, working together as a true team with the added ability to be able to ensure they can think outside of the box.

Current industry relationships with key decision makers at senior and / or board level and the ability to develop this network further would be advantageous.

A proven ability to communicate at all levels, internally and externally.

A great listener who also has strong persuasive and negotiation skills and the ability to create solutions.

Excellent all round interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to manage and influence at all levels – with your team and externally.

The ability to build and develop successful teams and thrive under pressure in a fast paced environment is imperative.

The ability to manage multiple priorities and people to time critical deadlines is essential.

High levels of planning, organisation, motivation, creativity and results focused is a must.

Strong written and presentation skills.

Literate with all Microsoft applications.
