Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Head of Technology on behalf of a rapidly growing, extremely innovative, globally renowned logistics business.

£90,000 – £95,000 basic salary (dependent on experience)
20% KPI related bonus.

Your Mission:

With dotted line to the UK Managing Director, your role will be to provide strategic and operational leadership for all technology and digital platforms across our clients UK business, ensuring alignment with the Group’s global IT strategy and seamless integration across business units.

You will be responsible for defining and executing the UK technology strategy, overseeing architecture, governance, and investment priorities.

This role will support and steer the global strategy for our clients platform. You will be working closely with the Global Product Owner (IT & Systems Development Manager – UK) and regional teams in the USA, Australia, and future territories.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Governance:
Define and execute the UK Technology Strategy in alignment with the Group’s global technology roadmap.

Represent UK IT at regional and global technology committees (Italy, USA, Australia).

Develop and maintain a 3-year technology roadmap that supports business growth and digital transformation.

Oversee technology budgets, investments, and ROI to ensure cost efficiency and value delivery.

Establish governance frameworks for prioritisation, performance monitoring, and compliance.

Global Strategy Steering – Platforms:
Partner with the Global Product Owner to steer the global platform strategy and ensure alignment with business goals.

Represent UK interests within the global product steering group.

Support roadmap definition, investment planning, and prioritisation across global teams.

Serve as an escalation point for key business and technical issues impacting global platform execution.

Systems & Infrastructure Oversight:
Oversee core systems across UK brands.

Ensure system architecture supports scalability, security, and integration with global infrastructure.

Approve and monitor major development and integration initiatives across platforms.

Drive unified data architecture and interoperability across brands and regions.

Data, Security & Compliance:
Own data governance strategy and ensure alignment with global privacy and security frameworks.

Maintain compliance with GDPR, ISO standards, and our clients security protocols.

Oversee disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and business continuity for all UK and global systems.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Partner with business and IT leaders globally to ensure technology strategy supports commercial and operational goals.

Serve as the senior technology representative on the UK Management Board and Group IT Leadership.

Provide strategic oversight and executive-level communication for global platform initiatives.

Leadership & People:
Lead and mentor the IT & Systems Development Manager and broader UK technology team.

Build collaboration between product, development, and operational teams.

Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.

Key Deliverables:
Approved and executed UK and global technology roadmap.

Strategic alignment and successful scaling of our clients global platforms.

SLA performance and governance standards met across systems.

Robust, secure, and scalable IT environment supporting growth and innovation.

Skills and experience required

Proven senior technology leadership experience as Head of Technology, IT Director or CTO.

Strong strategic planning and hands on technical background.

Expertise in modern infrastructure, cloud, security, and software development.

Excellent communication, financial acumen, and project management skills.

Collaborative spirit, with appreciation of diverse perspectives.

Bold, passionate, tenacious and curious mindset, not afraid to explore new ideas and challenge the status quo in pursuit of better solutions.

A technology related degree is imperative.
