Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for an Import Seafreight Supervisor on behalf of a rapidly growing, fast paced, technology driven logistics business.

Scope of the Role:

Reporting directly into the Operations Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Seafreight Imports operations team, supporting the team and delivering service excellence to assigned clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:
Proactively work with both the UK operations teams and an outsource company to manage the operation, delegating work.

Full exception management to ensure service excellence.

Manage the team to provide client facing operational contact.

Troubleshoot incoming queries in conjunction with the team to achieve service excellence for each client.

Profit analysis and reporting.

WIP Management.

Job allocation/distribution.

Work seamlessly to support the work of the CSM team, ensuring all SOP’s are adhered to and attend client calls as required.

Identify and deliver operational efficiencies and productivity gains in conjunction with the IT team for both short and long-term goals.

Drive efficiency throughout the team, using and proposing digital solutions.

Implement all new business, providing the client with a great experience.

Contribute to budgeting, reporting, planning and auditing as requested by the Operations Director.

Achieve monthly operational KPI’s as specified.

Identify, address and resolve problems and highlight any opportunities to the Head of CSM.

Develop positive partnerships with clients, agents and suppliers.

People Management:

Develop and mentor people to help them support their career aspirations.

Provide full management and support to the teams, ensuring our people are happy and well motivated.

Promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.

Ensure comprehensive cover for all absence within the team and when required, personally provide cover.

Compliance:

Deliver full compliance to the company credit policy throughout the team in conjunction with the Finance team.

At all times represent and act in the best interest of the company, the shareholders and the employees.

Complete other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested.

Work in accordance with the company values to maintain a positive environment with all teams across all departments.

Communication:

Attend check-in meeting with the Operations Director.

Regular communication with all team members.

Meetings with clients, partners and suppliers as required.

Report on monthly KPI’s.

Skills and experience required

A proven track record managing an Import Seafreight department and a comprehensive understanding of client and operational requirements to ensure service excellence standards are met and exceeded.

Previous experience implementing efficient working practices.

A good understanding of Cargowise would be a distinct advantage.

A proven track record managing, inspiring and motivating teams with energy is essential.

Excellent relationship/client management skills.

Good Organisation skills.

Strong Attention to detail.

Competent in delivering operational excellence.

Previous experience KPI reporting on required operational standards.
