Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Business Development Manager who can develop relationships with a portfolio of major clients in The Netherlands, on behalf of a rapidly growing, extremely innovative parcel delivery business.

Scope of the Role:

You will be responsible for generating and closing opportunities for European volume. You will work closely with the client development team to enhance product knowledge, create a substantial pipeline and increase share of wallet throughout the client base. You will serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete and own any internal bid/tender processes.

Acquire a good understanding of key customer needs and requirements to maintain trust.

Meet or exceed targets of new business.

Grow the overall profit of the P&L by closing high margin deals.

Build and hold close relationships with the client development function, owning the onboarding process of any new business.

Create and implement a long term strategy for Key Account development, and prepare sales and action plans to achieve them.

Manage and grow any onboarded European Clients.

Participate in companywide projects where required.

Contribute to the overall business strategy including target markets, products and proposition.

Seek opportunities to increase knowledge of competitors and contribute to our clients competitor matrix.

Work with the Product and Marketing teams to influence the direction of the European Product Portfolio.

Work directly with clients and client teams to ensure the products are continuing to fulfil the specific needs and demands of the current and future client base, and feed any opportunities for product enhancement and development into the wider business.

National travel (sometimes Internationally if required)

Skills and experience required

Highly experienced European selling/account management background is essential.

Knowledge of selling to the B2C sector.

Proven track record of selling eCommerce and Cross Border.

An excellent level of insight into the market and customer needs and the drivers of customer experience.

The ability to respond and work at pace on a variety of projects.

Outgoing, engaging and confident.

Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.

Ability to build strong working relationships internally and externally.

Technical Skills – Microsoft Office package.

Pro-active individual with the ability to self-manage.

Strong team player keen to work across departments and develop clear recommendations using multiple data sources.

Willing to question and critically evaluate current ways of working.

Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record influencing at board level.

Ability to deliver under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

A credible, articulate individual who can both build and influence excellent cross functional relationships.
