Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a National Business Development Manager on behalf of a privately owned, rapidly growing logistics business. From Freight Forwarding and Customs Clearance to Stock Management and International Delivery, our client offers it all!

Circa £50,000-£55,000 basic salary (dependent on experience) plus £6,000 per year car allowance or company car, travel expenses, uncapped commission structure, package and excellent opportunities for career development and progression towards Managment based on the value you add.

Your Mission:

As National Business Development Manager, you will make a vital contribution to the success of the business.

You will be responsible for the entire sales process – that’s everything from intelligence gathering and prospecting, to negotiating and managing accounts. Working closely with the operational team and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify potential clients in target industries to expand the company’s customer base across all services available utilising an array of techniques including but not limited to cold calling, telesales, business social media, trade shows, competitor analysis.

Establish and lead on the end-to-end sales process of identified customers and execute strategic business development plans to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in customers organisations and updating the CRM accordingly to ensure pipeline management is optimum.

Collaborate with internal teams to customise the ‘solution’ that meet the specific needs of the existing and prospective customers.

Lead negotiations and contract discussions with customers, ensuring favourable terms and agreements for both parties.

Build relationships with prospective clients.

Maintain consistent contact with existing clients.

Manage sales pipeline.

Analyse market and establish competitive advantages.

Track metrics to ensure targets are hit.

Skills and experience required

A proven track record of success selling Air, Sea, Road Freight and Customs Clearance.

Solution focused and consultative with proven business-to-business field sales experience.

The ability to work well independently and well as part of a team.

Natural problem-solving talent – with proven project and time management skills.

The drive to thrive in a target-driven environment.

Good knowledge of MS Office products.

Excellent communication skills with experience of creating and delivering presentations.

A full, clean driving license held for at least two years.
