About this position

Vidu are running a super exciting assignment in the search for a National Sales/Business Development Manager for a leading total supply chain operator.

Our client has engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search process.

The role:

To work closely with our clients UK Sales and Marketing Director to drive revenue generation and maximise EBITDA by building new customer partnerships and harvesting existing customer relationships.

Manage relationships with current and potential customers, and develop a network that brings new opportunities to our client.

Monitor customer operations and act as liaison between the customer and operations teams in order to ensure a high-level of service is provided.

Promote and sell our clients array of services in a way that improves overall profitability.

Represent our client in a professional manner consistent with ethics and company policies, procedures, guidelines and practices.

Maintain and expand customer base by building and maintaining rapport with key customers and identifying new customer opportunities in addition to ensuring that existing customers receive excellent service.

Prepare reports that provide sales figures to corporate leaders, as well as reports that forecast expected future sales.

Provide timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.

Maintain contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies and tactics.

Create and conduct proposal presentations and RFP responses.

Responsible for terms and accuracy of contracts and proposals submitted to customers.

Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new markets.

Meet or exceed all order, revenue and EBIDTA goals assigned.

Skills and experience required

A proven track record of generating new business within the Logistics Industry. (Ideally Time Critical Logistics and Temperature Control, Road Freight, European Road Haulage, Contract Logistics, Warehousing, Freight Brokerage or Freight Forwarding/Supply Chain)

Sound understanding of Logistics/Freight Forwarding/Supply Chain products and terminologies.

Experience of sourcing, nurturing and developing large customers and the ability to present and build relationships at board level.

Good overall business and cross functional experience along with the ability to understand customer supply chain challenges,create solutions and sell value added solutions.

Ability to work well autonomously in addition to being a team player.

Excellent presentation skills.
