Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment on behalf of globally renowned eCommerce logistics business in the search for a forward thinking, hands on, results driven Operations Director to lead and oversee frontline operations.

Our Client is at the start of a strategic development plan to delivery significant growth and an aggressive diversification strategy.

Your Mission:

Reporting directly into the Managing Director, you will be required to lead and develop a team in excess of 200 across a number of UK operational sites with a primary focus on our clients West London Head quarters.

You will be tasked with ensuring that all operational targets relating to service, cost, security, and employee satisfaction are achieved with budget responsibility for operational costs and driving efficiencies.

As a key member of the Senior Management team, you will be directly responsible for the development and implementation of strategic operational plans and projects with a clear focus on continuous improvement, motivating and inspiring staff, improving customer loyalty, delivering great service quality, and improving network profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Hold regular reviews with direct reports to ensure clarity on performance standards and targets. Ensuring specific action plans are agreed relating to Employee Opinion Survey results.

Lead the team through any necessary change programmes and act as a role model for our clients Behaviours and Values (Respect and Results)

Ensure each operational ares is correctly resourced, with staffing plans to meet customer demands, working alongside the internal Recruitment/HR function to fill key roles and ensure suitable succession plans are in place.

Develop positive and constructive relationships with corporate support functions to ensure successful cross-functional working practices to facilitate implementation of projects, accurate reporting, and prompt resolution of customer/operational issues.

Implement Service Level Agreements for all key stakeholders and establish channels for feedback and monitoring.

Ensure effective management of operational facilities and equipment (including fleet, property, supplies and subcontracted services) against pre-defined budgetary and operations performance guidelines.

Assess, develop, and implement operational and organisational projects to ensure agreed business benefits are achieved.

Develop best practice solutions and continuous improvement processes to improve service quality, performance, and network profitability.

Skills and experience required

Significant experience in operational management and operational knowledge of International express logistics, and eCommerce distribution.

Effective leadership skills with proven experience of people management and the ability to demonstrate positive leadership attributes.

The ability to drive positive change and a positive culture across the organisation.

Proven ability to achieve KPIs, problem solve and overcome issues.

The ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and to run several projects simultaneously.

Confident overseeing periods of change and transformation.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

A customer focused approach to tasks.
