Vidu are working on a super exciting assignment in the search for an Operations Manager for the Media division of rapidly growing Freight Forwarding/Supply Chain business.

There is an attractive salary and package on offer with this role and an opportunity for the right individual to put their own stamp on this division and be instrumental in the growth and development of our clients Media team in the North West.

Scope of the role:

To ensure achievement of KPI’s through a well-motivated and knowledgeable Media operations team.


Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

Have full ownership of our clients Media operations team, a comprehensive understanding of all core business and the operations requirements to ensure service excellence standards are met and exceeded.

Work seamlessly to support the work of the CSM team, ensuring all SOP’s are adhered to.

Identify and deliver operational efficiencies and productivity gains in conjunction with the IT team for both short and long-term goals.

Drive efficiency throughout the team, using and proposing digital solutions and partner with an outsource company to enhance the operation where appropriate.

Identify new opportunities and share with the CSM team.

Achieve job profitability targets as specified in the budget, deploying better buying and achieving revenue opportunities.

Have a comprehensive understanding of the current budget, its opportunities and constraints, to deliver the GP v staff cost ratio.

Ensure that all invoicing, profits, WIP’s and accruals are complete in line with company policy.

Report the EGP by 5th of the following month.

Implement all new business, providing the client with a great experience.

Contribute to budgeting, reporting, planning and auditing.

Achieve monthly operational KPI’s as specified.

Identify and address problems and opportunities.

Develop positive partnerships with clients, agents and suppliers.

Leadership
:

Provide inspired leadership for the team.

Develop and motivate the team to ensure our people are happy and well motivated.

In conjunction with HR, multiskill people throughout the team to deliver a flexible workforce.

Promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.

Ensure comprehensive cover for all absence within the team and when required, personally provide cover.

Compliance
:

Develop, implement and review operational policies, system workflows and procedures.

Deliver full compliance to the company credit policy throughout the team in conjunction with the Finance team.

Ensure full compliance of all people to Brexit movements.

Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.

At all times represent and act in the best interest of the company, the shareholders and the employees.

Complete other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested

Work in accordance with the company values to maintain a positive environment with all teams across all departments.

Communication:

Attend weekly check-in meeting with your Manager.

Attend monthly Operations catch-up meeting.

Deliver regular staff huddles with your team.

Meetings with clients, partners and suppliers as required.

Report on monthly KPI’s.

Skills and experience required

Experience in Media and Publishing logistics is essential.

Have a comprehensive understanding of client and operational requirements to ensure service excellence standards are met and exceeded.

Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.

Good people management skills, the ability to lead from the front, inspiring and motivating the team with energy.

Previous experience implementing efficient working practices.

Experience with CargoWise is desirable.

Excellent people skills.

Attention to detail.

Competency in delivering operational excellence.

Proven experience of managing change.
