Vidu is working on a super exciting assignment in the search for a Production/Operations Specialist (IT Asset Disposition – ITAD Processing) on behalf of a super innovative business in Rotherham, who repurpose surplus technology from UK Companies to create digital opportunities for underserved communities.

Your Mission:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving efficiency, developing the team and ensuring compliance with company procedures, information security standards and industry best practice.
You will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of the IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) processing floor, ensuring assets are processed safely, securely and efficiently while meeting customer requirements, operational targets and compliance standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role. Working alongside the processing team, you will coordinate workflow, allocate resources, monitor productivity and maintain high standards of quality, data security and operational performance throughout the ITAD lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Workflow:
Lead, motivate and support the processing team throughout the working day.
Allocate staff across workstations based on workload, priorities and capability.
Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks and rebalance resources.
Provide coaching and practical support.
Ensure operational targets are achieved safely and accurately.
Maintain a visible, hands-on shop floor presence.
Operational Delivery:
Coordinate the full ITAD workflow including receipt, testing, grading, data sanitisation, refurbishment, quality assurance and recycling.
Ensure work complies with customer requirements and standard operating procedures.
Maintain throughput and productivity.
Data Security & Asset Control:
Maintain chain of custody and asset traceability.
Oversee secure data sanitisation and media destruction.
Escalate discrepancies and security concerns immediately.
Promote data security as the highest operational priority.
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement:
Complete quality checks throughout processing.
Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and ADISA compliance.
Identify and implement process improvements.
Team Development:
Deliver daily briefings and toolbox talks.
Coach and develop team members.
Identify training needs and support performance.
Systems & Reporting:
Maintain accurate processing records.
Support effective use of Odoo, Blancco and asset management systems.
Report productivity, quality and operational performance.
Health, Safety & Housekeeping:
Lead safe working practices and PPE compliance.
Maintain excellent housekeeping using 5S principles.
Report hazards and support corrective actions.
Experience within ITAD, electronics refurbishment, production or similar would be advantageous.
Previous experience leading or coordinating teams.
Knowledge of IT hardware, testing, grading and data sanitisation would be desirable.
Strong organisational, communication and IT skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to data security.
Ability to work at pace while maintaining quality.
Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable:
Supervisory experience in ITAD.
Experience with Odoo and Blancco.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and ADISA.
Hardware diagnostics/refurbishment.
Lean, Continuous Improvement or 5S experience.
Relevant operational certifications.
