Vidu are running a really exciting assignment on behalf of one of the worlds most renowned Logistics businesses in the search for a Regional HR Advisor.

Our client has engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search process.

Role/Responsibilities:

To provide support to the HR Business Partner’s, and to the business area allocated to the role to include Employee Relations advice and support, recruitment, sickness management, and other generalist HR duties in addition to pro-actively responding to the needs of internal customers.

The role includes working with the Business Partner team to develop and drive the HR Strategy for each of the Business Units. Also providing second level guidance and support, including case management, as well as supporting specific units with the accurate and timely processing of information.

The role is based in our clients head office but there is significant National travel required.

Specific Role Challenges (brief explanation)

The key challenges are to fully explore situations in order to provide consistent and accurate advice. Also to balance the workload and prioritise use of time in order to manage the day to day demands of the role, supporting diverse businesses and geographical spread.

Accountabilities:

Provide support to the HR Business Partner’s.
Provide an informative service to the business, responding to requests in a professional and timely manner.
Escalate queries if necessary.
Co-ordinate with external parties such as Legal support, Occupational Health suppliers and responding promptly and building relationships.
Ensure appropriate records are kept.
Manage the monitoring of projects, alongside the Business Partners.
Interface with other HR functions to support implementation of initiatives set down by them and by the Group businesses.
Plan and prioritise flexibly in order to meet the changing needs of the business and the team.
Utilise appropriate HR systems to ensure accurate recording of data.
Propose, plan and implement service improvements and cost saving opportunities.
Regularly monitor financial transactions for relevant cost centre’s, challenging areas of concern.
Regularly advise managers on issues related to disciplinary and employment law, interpretation of all terms and conditions of employment.
Provide guidance and advice to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures, ensuring that good practice is followed consistently.
Liaise with the relevant OH provider to ensure effective management of long term absence.
Proactively engage with HR and the business with regards to the annual Employee Opinion Survey, the roll out, communication of results and action planning improvements.
Proactively manage employment tribunals that fall into your area of responsibility.
Knowledge of the function and its services.

Co-operation across the HR function.
Long term successful relationships with customers (HR and line managers and employees.
Speed, accuracy and consistency of work and information provided to customers.
Knowledge of the HR policies and procedures.

Processes:

Manage variation in business unit terms and conditions.
Liaise with Management Development Manager regarding skill gaps and training needs for line managers.
Propose, plan and implement service improvements and cost saving opportunities.
Prepare severance authorisation paperwork and ensure all adequate signatories are received before incurring any costs on legal cases/dismissals.
Support and liaise with HR Admin and payroll to ensure an efficient and timely service is being provided to your customers in relation to payroll issues, onboarding, vetting, and form processing etc.
Provide ad hoc project support and leadership to meet the annual HR agenda.
Ad hoc HR Policy updates to meet the changing requirement of the law and the business.

Skills and experience required

Ideally a minimum of 2 years, but ideally 3 years experience in a similar role within a service based industry.

A proven track record of effectively managing and driving teams.

Computer literate.

Exceptional Planning and organisational skills.

Strong Customer service skills/customer focused.

Knowledge of ER policies and employment law.

Excellent Communication skills, written and verbal.

The ability to act on your own Initiative.

Ability to deal with difficult and sometimes contentious issues.

Must have a full clean UK driving license & be willing to travel extensively.

Some TUPE knowledge & experience is desirable.

It would be desirable if you have a CPP or are working towards CIPD
