Vidu have been approached by a very good client of ours to secure a Road Freight Broker – Account Manager to assist in the growth of their business.
A huge part of this role is Account Management, but it is essential you can demonstrate examples of new business wins.
Our client have engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search process.
Vidu’s team of dedicated consultants will be your first point of contact when applying for these roles.
As a Freight Broker/Account Manager you will be responsible for the development of profitable new business and for building strong relationships with our clients existing customers, that allow for the retention and growth of their business.
You will be the main point of contact for carriers and customers as you build up your portfolio. You will oversee the entire transportation process to ensure freight is successfully picked up and delivered.
Responsibilities:
Retain existing customers and onboard new customers, ensuring continuous support throughout the entire process.
Research, identify, and prospect potential customers via web searches, social media, and other outlets.
Provide quotes and handle booking requests for all transactional customers.
Utilise a consultative sales approach to identify, solicit, and secure new business from existing and new customers.
Manage all customer account, contact information, sales call notes, and rate quote documents along with all other customer interaction information through a Logistics Operations System and CRM Tool.
Participate in the evaluation of and respond to all formal bid packages, on-line bid packages & carrier profiles from assigned customers.
Ensure customers are informed of all the necessary documentation requirements for customs clearance, hazardous materials, or to meet any other regulatory or customer requirements.
It’s imperative you have upwards of 18 months experience as a freight broker/account manager within the transportation industry.
Demonstrated experience in identifying and growing standard trailer and temperature controlled business.
The ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate strong customer service and sales skills.
A proven track record of closing new customers.
Strong negotiation skills to liaise between shippers and carriers.
Experience of managing daily shipments and ensuring they are picked up and delivered as scheduled.
It’s imperative you have the ability to multi-task, are motivated working remotely, make good decisions, and can problem solve effectively.
Previous experience of utilising a Logistics Operations System & CRM Tool is essential.
Proven IT skills and previous experience of navigating Windows XP OS in addition to Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel is a must.
