About this position

Vidu are running a super exciting assignment on behalf of one of the UK’s leading parcel delivery brands in the search for a sales executive to join their highly successful sales team in Scotland.

They are one of the UK’s leading time-critical carriers who can satisfy all clients distribution needs, whether their consignments are for the UK or elsewhere in the world.

Integrating their own extensive UK network with their unrivalled ground-based service to Europe and Air Express service to the rest of the world, they are well placed to satisfy all clients distribution and logistics needs.

Our client has engaged with Vidu VIP to carry out the initial search process.

The Role:

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this is very much a ‘hunter role, where you will be focusing 100% of your time upon generating new business.

Your ability to allocate time effectively and plan your day in advance shall greatly dictate your success in meeting set targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and implement a business plan for your allocated territory in order to maximise sales and deliver excellent standards of customer service at all times.

Identify new business opportunities and extending the customer base.

Maintain strong sales administration including use of CRM to follow up all leads, enquiries/quotes.

Adopt a consultative approach with clients in tailoring appropriate solutions to meet needs whilst developing/maintaining a strong knowledge of all solutions and our clients full product range.

Skills and experience required

A proven track record of selling a service led solution within Logistics/Distribution.

Ideally a minimum of 18 months experienced within a field sales role.

An effective negotiator, with the ability to pro-actively build strong relationships via first class communication and influencing skills. (You will enjoy genuinely ‘adding value’ to customers and not simply ‘selling a service’)

Accustomed to selling with real integrity, you will be used to delighting customers and have a demonstrable track record of sales success in terms of achieving targets consistently.

Key account management experience would be advantageous along with strong prospecting skills.

Whilst sales experience in the Logistics/Distribution sector is desirable it is not essential, if you have sold a service with a ‘solutions’ based approach.

You must live in Scotland and have a valid UK driving licence.
